Well, mainly one kitten, who is the gorgeous girl in the picture! Her markings are so unusual and I wondered if there was a name for colourings like this? Her mum is a beautiful long-haired calico. Are there any early indicators as to if a kitten will be long or short haired?

Her brother, a little ginger boy is also coming home with us!!

Also, girl's names are very welcome. We prefer human names but happy to hear any and all suggestions!!

She's beautiful and I think she's called Lily.

NickMyLipple · 07/06/2020 18:52

@Slothsarecreepy funny you should say that, my daughter also said Lily however my Dad's dog is called Lily and we spend a lot of time with him!

I think maybe she is just a tortoiseshell markings wise?

Cuteness overload!
If she were mine she’d be Bagheera.

gypsywater · 07/06/2020 18:55

Shes a Mabel

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 18:57

Brindle torteshell is her coat patten.

She looks sweet so you need a sweet name.

lljkk · 07/06/2020 19:00

like all cats I reckon she'll be a charming trouble maker in no time -- call her Mischief.

tmh88 · 07/06/2020 19:03

Agree with @7Worfs bagheera!!(Secretly wondering if I can rename my cat..)

NickMyLipple · 07/06/2020 20:34

Bagheera is so cute!

Haa anyone else got a tortie? The internet tells me they're evil and vicious but I can't possibly believe that?!??! 😂🙈

Ndn have a brindle and she’s very sweet, purrs like an engine & comes running over if you so much as glance at her.

Torties are just assertive with good boundaries.

UncleShady · 07/06/2020 20:42

Our tortoiseshell is not vicious - but she does have amazing resting bitch face. She detests me, she visibly wilts if I'm the only one around and she will rub her face on an invisible leg 5 cm in front of my actual leg rather than touch me - and she only does that if she really, really needs food. If she walks into a room and I'm the only one there she huffs and walks out. However she loves DD and DH, she follows them around, squeaks at them and is a total lap cat. She brings them toys to play with and she's a fantastic mouser as well. She'd just prefer that I drop dead.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 20:43

You haven’t got her yet have you? She looks too young to be away from her mum with those blue eyes and flat ears.

stophuggingme · 07/06/2020 22:04

I’ve never known a tortie that wasn’t anything but a total character

She does only look about five or six weeks old to me though at the most. She should still be at home with mum for a good while yet

Name wise she looks like a Cheetara to me in homage to Thundercats

Windyatthebeach · 07/06/2020 22:05

My friend has 4. All loud and evil!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 22:08

@UncleShady

Has she relegated you to being your dhs side chick?. She sounds a little character.

Emmagen · 07/06/2020 22:30

I used to work in a rescue and naughty torties are definitely a thing but that doesn't mean that they are all mean and grumpy! It mostly means that they tend to be full of character and like any generalisation it can't hold true for all of them!

Lovely kitten, I miss cats and it's going to be years before we are ready for any!

slanleat · 07/06/2020 22:35

I had two torties. Love them. They were both beautiful cats. One was a bit on the cranky side at times but to be honest I loved her independent streak.

MrsOosh77 · 07/06/2020 22:40

She is a Cleo. Or a Barbara. In fact Tom and Barbara a la Good Life would be fab Smile

TroysMammy · 07/06/2020 22:40

Jemima
Kizzy
Elvira

Pieceofpurplesky · 08/06/2020 01:00

I have an evil tortie. But she can be lovely

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 08/06/2020 01:21

Oooof! Cute toe beans. Claws not so cute.

I hope whoever is holding her realises she’s probably plotting to shit in their boots once she’s been released, judging by the expression on her face!

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 08/06/2020 01:22

A bit retro but Mork and Mindy?

Lindy2 · 08/06/2020 01:52

She looks to be a beautiful long haired tortoiseshell.

My lovely naughty tortoise is the most loving, playful and gentle cat I've ever known. She is a bit of a mischief maker and a bit crazy (has fallen out of a tree whilst chasing squirrels as one example) but is a wonderful pet.

I'd call her Ruby and her ginger brother Nugget.

rubydoobydoo · 08/06/2020 01:57

We have two! They're sisters called Holly and Ivy. Torties are the best!

My tortie is the daftest thing ever. She hunts moss and worms... also very very affectionate.
She is however an expert in the 'I'm starving' face and easily manages to con herself into getting 2 dinners.

Monty27 · 08/06/2020 02:42
