DH just too this photo of our two cats patiently waiting for us to open the back door even though they have been in and out of the flaming catflap all day. Well they were sitting nicely .....

haha brilliant, what a pair of beauties.

TroysMammy · 22/05/2020 21:12

Ah the scaredy floofy cats. Lovely to see a photo of their faces instead of their bums Grin

Windyatthebeach · 22/05/2020 21:17

As is there right op.
What sort of dcat slaves have they got if neither of you open doors for them??
Honestly...
Not fit for the job op...
Grin

oohnicevase · 22/05/2020 21:18

Haha .. we have 3 cats , one won't use the car flap and just sits with her face against the door !! 🙄

DippyAvocado · 22/05/2020 21:21

It took 2 weeks of me shoving my cat backwards and forwards through the cat flap to get her to use it. Even now she makes a real palaver out of it - she refuses to touch it with her head and just scrabbles at it with her paws.

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 21:24

🤣🤣 @TroysMammy Well remembered .... again!

Look whose very settled with us now! She still only has to look at them and they take off in a cloud of floof!

The batteries ran out on our microchip one a few weeks ago, which meant it didn't click when they got near it. It didn't need to as it defaults to unlocked. And it didn't matter how many times you could get down on all fours and show them, face to face, that the bloody thing worked they still went "no click, no work" and would walk to the door and howl to be let out/in.

I came into the kitchen to find DD on the floor holding the catflap open talking to the cat the other side of it saying "it's open, see" Grin and still nope.

Obviously I have replaced the batteries now but it still can't be trusted and they are sticking to doors and windows.

BikeRunSki · 22/05/2020 21:33

DCat is not very bright. It took her about 3 years to master the cat flap, and she will do anything not to use it (yes it works, no it’s not too high).

Also - DRINK OUT OF YOUR BOWL!!!!

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 21:33

@MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht We've been known to hold open the catflap too. They will come through, we walk away and then they turn around and go straight back outside again - using the catflap😡

😂

One of mine was doing her cockerel impression yesterday when I got to the bottom of the stairs. I thought she required "fresh" cat biscuits rather than the ones in the bowl 🙄. She duly runs to the porch, I decant biscuits.

Nope she wanted the front door opened, the door with the f*cking cat flap in FFS

FlamingoAndJohn · 22/05/2020 21:40

My girl will sit and cry at the living room window rather than go through her cat flap.
The irony of this is that our living room window is 7ft off the ground. To get to it she has to climb up the fence and then jump from the fence and onto the roof of the summer house, which is below the living room window.
The summer house contains her cat flap. Yes, she has to go past the cat flap to go through all this nonsense to get to the window.

Here she is demanding to come in.

Oh but how cute do they look!

RandomMess · 22/05/2020 21:42

Flamingo mine does the same - cries to come in the window, the window next to the catflap 🤦🏼‍♀️

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 21:44

@FlamingoAndJohn That's so funny - love her little head just peeking above the windowsill!

I've not got a cat flap but Snorg adores the one at the cattery and loves going through it over and over!

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 21:46

@Toddlerteaplease They are cute I have to admit. Like two little book ends!

Ignore the random pictures of shopping. That was a mistake and I’ve asked MNHQ to remove.

RandomMess · 22/05/2020 21:48

The worst is when girl cat scratches her claws down the French doors - like nails down a chalkboard 😬

EngagedAgain · 22/05/2020 22:03

They are truly beautiful. Have you had the other cat long OP? I love cats, used to have three of my own.

TheLongRider · 22/05/2020 22:17

Lovely to see your boys OP and your new Overlady. She certainly knows who's Queen!

Have they recovered from their colds?

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 22:26

@TheLongRider Two of them (the little black and white one):and the ginger on the left are completely recovered now but Archie on the right of the photo has had 2 visits to the vet now. His eyes became increasingly sore and swollen. He's now on both antibiotic and anti viral eye drops. This is what he looked like on Monday and you can really see an improvement today.

@EngagedAgain We have had her "officially" for around 6 months. She's almost 10 and was a neighbour's cat but they got dogs and she didn't want to go home and started sneaking into our house every chance she got. We spoke to the neighbours and offered to take her in and they agreed. My gingers have always been terrified of her even though she weighs just over 2kg and they both weigh over 5.5kg!

My dm has an old fashioned cat flap her cat has to lift with his nose. He uses it as a door knocker Smile

RandomMess · 22/05/2020 22:51

@Icequeen01 these pedigrees they are bloody clueless!!!!

Icequeen01 · 22/05/2020 23:20

@RandomMess Don't give them delusions of grandeur - they are only half pedigrees. Dad was a local ginger tom and mum was a Birman. They came from a rescue centre 😀
