No real point to this thread other than I feel sad and worried.
A neighbours dog escaped today and attached our lovely cat on another neighbours driveway. I heard the commotion and my neighbour screaming but thought it was 2 dogs fighting. Apparently it dragged her by her backlegs. She managed to get away but now we can't find her Sad
I'm hoping she'll make her way back home very soon but I have no idea how badly she's injured.
I'll be out looking for her again in the morning, phoning the vets in case someone finds her etc.
Please keep your fingers crossed that we find her or she comes home soon so we can get her treated.

Oh no! I have nothing useful to say, but that sounds horribly traumatic. You must be so worried and upset. I really hope she's OK and she comes home soon.

TokyoSushi · 17/05/2020 22:10

Oh no, I'd be beside myself as well OP, I really hope your poor cat is home soon Flowers

RandomMess · 17/05/2020 22:13

She will probably be hiding I would go out and search for her. When scared they often go into instinctive survival mode, she is likely close by but in shock and you may have to drag her from her hiding place.

Thanks

Thank you for the replies.
We've been out looking several times since it happened, as has our lovely neighbour. I've been poking about in bushes, under cars etc. I'm hoping she's close by and that she either makes it home or we find her.
I'll be back out tomorrow.

Is there a local Facebook or WhatsApp group you could contact?

Haretodaygonetomorrow · 17/05/2020 23:09

Can you not continue to look for her through the night? I hope this isn’t the case but she is likely to be severely injured and needing urgent veterinary treatment or dead.

keepingbees · 17/05/2020 23:16

How awful Sad Is she chipped? Just thinking someone else may have found her and taken her to a vets

LizB62A · 17/05/2020 23:19

It would be worth going out overnight if you can - that's often when people find their lost cats, injured or not.
I hope you find her soon.

Maybe follow all the tips for finding a lost cat - putting her litter tray outside so she can smell her own scent etc.

Floralnomad · 17/05/2020 23:21

She may have run into an open shed or garage and is now locked in . Hope you find her soon . My dog caught a neighbours cat in our garden once and had hold of its back leg as it was trying to get over the fence , I managed to release the cat and went round to the neighbours to see if it was ok and he was absolutely fine , not a mark on him so it’s perfectly possible that your poor cat is ok just scared . Was there any signs of blood at the scene of the attack to indicate that she was injured ?

Shufflebumnessie · 17/05/2020 23:25

@keepingbees she is chipped and I'll be phoning the local vets first thing tomorrow to see if she's been taken in.
@Haretodaygonetomorrow it's mostly dense woodland around us (which DH was searching earlier) plus I have 2 young children in bed and DH is working a night shift so I can't leave them. I'll be back out tomorrow morning.
@IDefinitelyHaveFriends I've posted on local FB sites just in case anyone sees her.

Oh no, I really hope she's doing ok and she's home safely with you again soon - fingers crossed for you X

Shufflebumnessie · 17/05/2020 23:28

@Floralnomad I'm hoping that's the case here. Brave of you to intervene. I couldn't see any blood but no one was quite sure of the exact spot that it happened, apparently it all just happened so fast.

I'm sure she'll be hiding somewhere and will return home soon. She must be terrified and wary. Fingers crossed she makes her way back for cuddles very soon

Oldestchild90s · 17/05/2020 23:36

I've got a feeling she'll be just fine 🤞🏻 she's probably hiding away to recover from the shock and scare she's been through today. Really hope you find her soon!!

CarrieMoonbeams · 18/05/2020 00:07

Oh that's awful, poor wee thing Sad.

I really hope she's OK.

notapizzaeater · 18/05/2020 00:15

This happened to my neighbours cat, she reappeared about 24 hours later with a few wounds.

Besom · 18/05/2020 09:01

Oh no! Hoping she has turned up or will this morning.

Floralnomad · 18/05/2020 10:00

Any news @Shufflebumnessie

Want2beme · 18/05/2020 10:28

She's probably in shock and biding her time. Cats have an amazing survival instinct. I hope she comes home to you soon.

UnsureOfFuture · 18/05/2020 10:29

Oh goodness. Hope she's back by now. Xx

Herpesfreesince03 · 18/05/2020 10:32

Hope she’s ok op. She’ll probably be fine, just had a bit of a fright and will turn up in a day or two x

Shufflebumnessie · 18/05/2020 11:48

@Floralnomad unfortunately not. I've been out again and a friend is going to check a different area.

@Shufflebumnessie anything yet? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/05/2020 19:24

Have you got a torch to look at night? Their eyes reflect back in direct light.

I swear to god all cats should come with torches for night time searches.

Didicat · 18/05/2020 20:40

Any luck op?
