Heard a scuffle late last night but couldn't see anything when I went out.
Karl didn't appear then or this morning so I've been out looking for him since about 10.00. He finally turned up 30 minutes ago - clearly injured (hissed when picked up) but difficult to see where - possibly his tail. He is now hiding in the house to sleep it off. Trip to the vet tomorrow if he's not improved.
And I can't even blame TC - he was apparently in last night.

I'd have shaved his entire tail I wouldn't- I'd leave a round ball on the end. Like a poodle.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/04/2020 17:34

Pleased to report that the vet is happy with Karl's progress at present. Sybil would probably beg to differ - she runs away whenever she sees him Grin

I can also confirm that I am NOT going to indulge in any more shaving of his tail!!

That's fine news, you must be so relieved.

Karl is a beauty, no dodgy haircut can change it.

Oldestchild90s · 17/04/2020 18:03

Great news about Karl 😻

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/04/2020 18:10

Yes it"s all positive so far thanks - he's got to keep the cone on and the vet will review again in the middle of next week. All being well he'll have the stitches out in about a week and a half.
Karl is now spending every evening on my lap (5 hours last night Shock) - presumably thinking that if he's restricted then I should be too Grin.

He probably likes the warmth now he’s been shaved.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2020 18:13

The vet nurse said (repeatedly) how lovely and friendly he was - so he bloody should be considering the amount we've spent on him .

Hmm they said the same about Snorg!

Hmm they said the same about Snorg!

They're players our cats Grin.

Poor Karl! It’s true that the shaved bit does accentuate his wonderful tail.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/04/2020 14:37

Karl is now VERY bored - getting his collar off with monotonous regularity and trying to escape.
He's got another week of this...

Aww poor Karl... his tail is magnificent though. Even if it does look like a fluffy duster!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/04/2020 16:54

Poor Grumpy, you have one trying to break out and one trying to break in!

Supersimkin2 · 18/04/2020 21:53

Karl's new look has a certain yearning chic.

That regal looking chap is copying Karl's style there simpkin

Anyone else moving the cursor arrow from photo 1-2 and back to make Karl dance ? Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/04/2020 22:01

Supersimkin2

The likeness is uncanny Grin

Grin Oh I love Karl as a languishing young man. How about another Nicholas Hilliard - TC as Sir Francis Drake, a bit of a pirate, definitely larger than life, and glorying in raids on Grumpy’s garden:

I can’t seem to download the image itself so sorry it is just a link.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/04/2020 10:32

Karl update. Just sent the latest photo of Karl's abscess to the vet - she's really pleased with the way it has healed and he can have the stitches out tomorrow. So although he's still looking 'poodley' he has only one more day of looking like an Elizabethan fop Grin.

That's excellent news. He'd better knock off a couple of sonnets and be too sensitive to eat lunch before his outfit is removed.

Ellmau · 22/04/2020 16:47

Has the fur started to grow back on the shaved bit?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2020 17:30

He'd better knock off a couple of sonnets

And some ornaments , lamps, cups, wine glasses and vases of flowers ....while he can blame it on The Cone of Shame Grin
