Bloody cats

Heard a scuffle late last night but couldn't see anything when I went out.
Karl didn't appear then or this morning so I've been out looking for him since about 10.00. He finally turned up 30 minutes ago - clearly injured (hissed when picked up) but difficult to see where - possibly his tail. He is now hiding in the house to sleep it off. Trip to the vet tomorrow if he's not improved.
And I can't even blame TC - he was apparently in last night.

Do they think it’s a mink bite too?.
I forgot to ask Hmm. But chatting to one of my sisters yesterday, she reminded me that one of her previous cats had a very similar injury and her vet had suggested mink or stoat based on the teeth marks

If I was nursing an £800 vet bill I’d forget to ask too.

Little shits never learn. Always up for a scrap. Them little no thumbs paws always up for whacking someone / something indoors or outdoors regardless of how well you treat them.

That being said my little cat fur baby is my world & is loved dearly.

Oh op I hope he recovers, his ego will have taken a bashing.

Also don't mean to worry you but something similar injury wise happened to ex's cat & upon closer inspection under the tail was a huge deep open wound which required vets visit & overnight stay.

Keep us updated Thanks

That's actually exactly what he's got - hence the huge bills. The only thing we've avoided is the overnight stay. I'd put in a photo - but it really isn't pretty...

From what I remember the kitty had a an open wound the size of about an inch both lengthways & widthways .... sounds like a vets visit OP ( not what you want to hear at this time ) as it may needs stitches & get infected otherwise. Poor kitty 💕

Is Karl allowing you to inspect or is it all hissy fits growling & random paw whacking you?

lottieloop · 15/04/2020 09:21

Also I don't mean to alarm you OP something similar happened to friends kitty & it was irreparable & said kitty had to have tail chopped off, took ages for the cat to adapt with no tail, but lets hope it doesn't come to that, poor thing. Sorry I don't mean to sound all doom & gloom x

Allergictoironing · 15/04/2020 09:51

lottie read the thread - Karl has been to the vets twice, has been treated for the wounds and is back home with a cone of shame resulting in an £800 bill.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/04/2020 10:06

Just re read my post. Snorg. And in from the garden with one eye partly closed. Arghh!! Now I know why.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/04/2020 10:07

@allergictoironing I dread to think what my vets bill is going to be. Bloody cats indeed!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/04/2020 13:39

How is the poor boy today?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/04/2020 14:18

He's quite cheerful now thanks. Only two problems

  1. he's very good at getting the lampshade off.
  2. the other cats don't have a clue what is going on - and Sybil keeps looking nervous and running away from him

I'm to photograph the wound and send to the vet tomorrow morning - to me it looks to be healing quite well (but I'm not a vet...).

This morning with TC.

A cross between a vacuum cleaner and a feather duster. Poor Karl.

Ellmau · 16/04/2020 14:38

He kind of looks like a mobile toilet cleaner, brush at one end, plunger at the other...

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2020 14:55

He looks like a brave little soldier.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/04/2020 15:04

Oh dear, I did have to laugh at him. Poor thing.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/04/2020 15:16

I shall not tell Karl any of your suggestions. Shock

Is that TC showing some sympathy?

Poor old Karl. Could you get one of those soft Elizabethan collars for him?😞

Toddlerteaplease · 16/04/2020 16:20

I'm sure his toilet brush tail is actually magnificent!

Toilenstripes · 16/04/2020 16:29

🤣🤣 Toilet brush tail. Poor Karl. He’s such a beautiful boy. Sending him lots of love.

Allergictoironing · 16/04/2020 16:30

It does show off a) what a glossy coat he has and b) just what a floofy tail he has.

I notice that he's still not showing his face to the camera in case he gets recognised Wink

MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht · 16/04/2020 17:01

Oh dear. That is a very unfortunate haircut.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/04/2020 20:09

Ahh poor Karl .
I'd have shaved his entire tail so it looked like a whip rather than a Ken Dodd Tickling Stick .

I'm sure Karl could carry off a Dominatrix Look .
