Mine get a hot water bottle and their food heated up slightly if it's freezing. They're tiny and still babies. My partner thinks I'm mad!

Aww that's cute!
Yeah if my DP is day on the sofa and the cat wants that seat DP usually moves to the floor. I tell him to not give his seat up but she's boss 🙀

Sat*

Yep, mine are spoiled rotten. If they meow for attention I always acknowledge them (and often will give in to whatever it is that they want, unless i think it's unreasonable!). They've also slept on my bed every single night since we got them as 15 week old kittens, DP moans that he doesn't get as many cuddles any more as there are always cats in the way but I tell him tough luck 😂

BillywilliamV · 30/11/2019 06:33

Can’t answer now, getting up at 6.30 on a freezing Saturday morning to feed the cats.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/11/2019 08:14

Yes, mine had a life of fleeces, hot water bottles & was no stranger to a pouch of gourmet.

Dh spoilt him too though.

LongLiveThePenis · 30/11/2019 08:20

I thought this was going to be about being soft as opposed to being a disciplinarian.
I certainly do put my cat on the naughty step when it's necessary. It just so happens that it's also his favourite spot to doze. I must be doing alright because he's still around even with two small children.

madcatladyforever · 30/11/2019 08:25

I was told I couldn't have my 18 year old cat in a rental property anywhere near my new job so I had to rent a holiday home at twice the price of a flat with 2 hours drive from work but no way I'm leaving my baby behind after all these years. Luckily we,re just about to move into our forever home. I'm buying guide a cottage and we'll be in by Christmas.

thecatneuterer · 30/11/2019 09:02

I had underfloor heating put in the kitchen because I thought the cats would like it. I also had a 'cat toilet extension' built on the side of my house (to be fair though that was probably more for my benefit - the cats would have been happy with the litter trays remaining in the hallway/kitchen).

Toddlerteaplease · 30/11/2019 09:32

Yes, mine have a heat mat. And I leave the hearing on for them when it's really cold.

Plump82 · 30/11/2019 09:34

Loving hearing all these!

We had a house sitter once to look after my 3 while we were on holiday.

She asked what are the rules? Rules? There are no rules! They can go wherever they want whenever they want. None of the doors must be closed even at night because they like to come and go as they please. The fact they might wake you up is neither here nor there! She was Shock

gamerchick · 30/11/2019 09:46

No, there are definitely rules. Definitely no feeding on a morning either. Husband's is soft though.

Babies need a bit extra looking after though I would have thought Grin

mazylou · 30/11/2019 09:49

We put the cat beds by the Aga.

sweetkitty · 30/11/2019 09:53

Rules are for dogs the cats do as they please. Actually the dog is spoiled rotten too she’s lying on my bed snoring right now. The cats favourite sleeping place is DD3s bed as her room gets the sun on the afternoon, it’s quiet and it’s a midi sleeper. They sleep amongst the teddies.

Shmithecat2 · 30/11/2019 09:54

We're in the ME, so no real need to worry about the cold, but yes, I spoil my cats rotten. I love going to my local pet supplies store to get them treats, toys etc. 'My' xmas present last year, which I asked for, was an 8ft tall £200 monster of a cat tree Blush. DH kept asking if I was sure. I couldn't wait to have it in our lounge. The cats aren't that bothered about it though - I think they were quite scared of it at first Grin. DH thinks I'm mad, but indulges me graciously.

I live in a well insulated heated flat, my cat has a plug in heated bed that’s turned on essentially all of the time.

I have a lock on my bedroom to keep my son out at ‘certain moments’, the cat didn’t like this so I’ve put a cat flap in my bedroom door.

I‘m a strict vegetarian (I have never ever consumed meat, fish etc), I don’t allow humans to bring any meat in the house. My cat is raw fed as it’s the best nutritionally for her.

She has her own side of my bed, when my boyfriend stays over I sleep in the middle and he sleeps on my side so we don’t stop the cat having her side. Yes, he is aware I love the cat more than him.

QuestionableMouse · 30/11/2019 10:03

I don't know what you mean...

Is anyone a soft touch with their kittens or Cats?
SisyphusDad · 30/11/2019 10:19

Fixed the title of your post, OP.

Is anyone not a soft touch with their kittens or Cats?

Grin
OhTheRoses · 30/11/2019 10:25

Heated pad
Very best good
Zoned heating
Goes where he likes when he likes
Metacam for his arthritis
Do not ask how much it cost to have a cat flap fitted in the bi-folds

TheForgetfulCat · 30/11/2019 10:27

I recently heard a vet on the radio advising that to combat pet obesity it was good to make animals work to find their food. Mentioned this to DH in casual chat. He took it very seriously and now has a routine last thing at night where he hides a handful of biscuits in strange places around the sitting room and helps the cat to find them.

(there was a time in our marriage when I didn't think he was a cat person ...)

EachandEveryone · 30/11/2019 21:10

Ive just bought an electric blanket. A mondern one that covers the whole mattress. Its been on for 8 hours today and i havent been in bed. I wonder why.🤔

Gingernaut · 30/11/2019 21:18

I’ve put a cat flap in my bedroom door.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Shockers · 30/11/2019 21:20

My cat sleeps every night on my chest with his face just inches from mine. His weight and purr help me sleep too (but him walking up and down my body doesn’t).

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/11/2019 21:29

The cat flap idea is genius though.

Deux · 30/11/2019 21:31

Our two boys are spoiled rotten and in fact the only Christmas shopping I’ve done is for the cats. Can’t believe I’ve written that.

I have a lovely felted wool magazine basket and today I cleared out all the old papers and stuff and lined it with a large (handmade) crochet blanket as one of our boys likes to snuggle and burrow.

I may add a heated blanket to their Christmas list.
