Is anyone a soft touch with their kittens or Cats?

Mine get a hot water bottle and their food heated up slightly if it's freezing. They're tiny and still babies. My partner thinks I'm mad!

Is there any other way?

I did a 40 minute divert home from work the other day because the supermarket didn't have the kitten biscuits the old boy likes stirred with his meat and there weren't enough left for next days breakfast. I've replaced several expensive items because he's adopted them as beds, and play hay barn jenga all winter because he likes a high pile to perch on in the day. And a low planter full of compost in the back porch because it's the only 'litter' he'll use.

We have a lovely bookshelf draped with a furry lurid blanket because another one likes to sleep there, and cardboard boxes and paper bags in almost every room. They just get replaced when they fall apart.

My kitchen cupboards have strategically placed items on top because one doesn't do strangers. And won't even walk past them to get upstairs. Such as a slow cooker that hides the fleece blanket, and her.

My bed is of course the cats, I fit in merely to respond to night time requests for cuddles and early morning breakfast/ let me out demands. When dp is home he is treated as a heated blanket addition to their domain

It appears these kittens and cats have us wrapped around their little toe beans!

Our cats are only banned from the pantry and the Utility (in case the go behind the WM or TD) . They've been in there but not fussed so they don't bother now .
But ......female cat loves the pantry and canters up as soon as the door opens ...so we have to wait till she has satisfied her need to look then wander out. (Can't leave her in there she's a chewer)

They have their (very £) microchip door set into our French door (££ to replace the glass) to give them freedom.

One of them was Angry this morning that DH had missed the usual 6am breakfast and door opening ( even though it is a Sunday) and woke him up by biting his foot . Grin

I had a beautiful huge pasta bowl that I used for fruit . It has survived 2 DC , building work, going in the dishwaher .......until Female cat decided she didn't want it on her table on knocked it onto the floor .
Bye Bye bowl.

I trained our cat to knock a lamp over because I knew dh couldn’t say anything if the cat had done it.

I hated that lamp.

Right now, I am absolutely knackered and was planning on spending the afternoon dozing on the sofa. Unfortunately I sat down at the kitchen table for a minute, Girlcat jumped on my lap and is now fast asleep. As she will only sleep on a lap if you're sitting on a chair in the kitchen, I now can't move for the next hour or so as how on earth could I disturb her??

I had planned in getting all the chrismas decorations sorted today but Gilbert was super cuddly all afternoon so i decided they could wait. Didnt matter i was sitting in an uncomfortable position when he made himself comfy!
