Is she even part of this family?! 😂

No matter what treats I buy, she doesn’t like them? Is it normal lll

I can't possible say without a photo of said kitteh.

Beamur · 10/11/2019 19:20

Have you tried prawns? I have yet to find a cat that doesn't like them.

Winterdaysarehere · 10/11/2019 19:20

Meh dkitten indeed...

AnnaMagnani · 10/11/2019 19:24

I thought I had the only cats that hate Dreamies but clearly not!

Mine will go nuts for Cosmas Snackies as do next door's cats but your kitten doesn't need treats.

Treats in this house were mainly used to get the kittens to come in when called when they were little, and now to trick cat into doing something it doesn't want to - usually get in the carrier.

Gingaaarghpussy · 10/11/2019 19:52

Have you tried wotsits? I found out purely by accident that my cat likes them

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 10/11/2019 20:00

My cat likes wotsits too 😅

Foxton20 · 10/11/2019 20:11

Said catto has had enough today of whiney children and decided she wanted to leave 😂

She completely refuses dry food too, she’s costing me a fortune in wet food 😂

Will try prawns! And wotsits 😂🙈 although I gave her a nibble of cheese and remembered they shouldn’t have it! She had a really gross poo after 🙈

Oh it would cost a fortune to feed on wet food. It’ll only get more expensive too, I’m not sure what to do in they instant. Dreamies do cheese favoured ones too my cats like them.

percheron67 · 10/11/2019 20:14

If she is fed adequately and is well why on earth would she want treats? Cats don't need them and neither do dogs who always look for a big pat and a kind word. Treats are unnecessary and just a manufacturer's way of making us spend more money.

Gingaaarghpussy · 10/11/2019 20:34

When I wanted to feed dry food to one of my cats, my vet recommended slowly adding more biscuits and decreasing the amount of wet food. It worked.
Another one of my cats used to go nuts for chocolate digestives.
I've also had:
Chips
Raisins
Polos
Really old pot of vicks vaporub (glass jar, bakerlight lid)
Rice, peas and sweetcorn
Baked bean juice.
One day I'll have a cat that just likes what it's supposed to and I'll be totally surprised. Grin

Dollymixture22 · 10/11/2019 20:53

My cat loves the yoghurty treats. Think they are called lik-e-lik.

They are amazing for hiding crushed tablets in - works every time.

Gingaaarghpussy · 10/11/2019 21:06

I forgot, I also knew a cat that went claws out, take your hand off for lettuce, of all things.
I had cats that liked cheese dreamed, but in my humble opinion, wotsits be cheaper. Grin

Foxton20 · 11/11/2019 15:58

Soooo we bought some lick a Lix, hated it. We bought some new food today too and she hates it.

She costs a bloody fortune 😂 £14 a week atm 😑😂

Gingaaarghpussy · 11/11/2019 16:14

See, wotsits be cheaper. Grin

SciFiScream · 11/11/2019 16:56

Why is it so expensive? I feed my two cats on a mix of wet and dry food and it doesn't cost that much

We buy tins (easier to recycle than pouches) are they cheaper?

24 tins are about £12 and last us about 18 days.

iklboo · 11/11/2019 17:00

Have you tried prawns? I have yet to find a cat that doesn't like them.

My two fussy buggers. One loves Whiskas treats (in the cat head shaped box) and Crawford's Cheese Savouries. The other likes licking the plate when DS has had buttered crumpets with honey.

hazeydays14 · 11/11/2019 17:01

My cat hates all treats, hates tuna but loves those lik-e-liks which you can get in home bargains (they have an x-mas turkey flavour too 😂)

iklboo · 11/11/2019 17:10

Right. This is embarrassing but....

DCat 1 likes the lik-e-liks. So I sing - to the tune of Forgetmenots / Men in Black:

Here come the lik-e-liks
They are very yummy
Here come the lik-e-liks
For a kitten's tummy

Cats often like olives, some of mine have had a catnip-like reaction to them.

MikeUniformMike · 11/11/2019 17:14

CharlieAlphaTango likes most treats. The creamy sauces from Wilko go down well, as do lik-e-lix and the Temptations(>) Crunch and Dreamies.

At the moment he is eating like a hound - it's the cold weather.

He refuses pate.

MustardScreams · 11/11/2019 17:16

My old cat would do literally anything for an olive stone Confused She would sit with them in her paws and lick for ages. Weird buggers.

egontoste · 11/11/2019 17:19

Have you tried:

Frozen peas?

Swiss roll?

Onion bhajis?

Chilli con carne?

egontoste · 11/11/2019 17:19

I have weird cats.

MrsGrindah · 11/11/2019 17:23

My late lovely girl used to like....oranges! I thought citrus repelled cats but she would get in your face if ever you ate one! Also ice cream but that’s less surprising. Nowt wrong with giving a cat an occasional treat...you give them to your loved ones don’t you? Also...some cats just take them....

ClientListQueen · 11/11/2019 17:26

@SciFiScream mine costs a fortune because he eats the best part of 4-5 small tins or pouches a day. Plus a full bowl of dry food Blush
He's also on grain free which is more expensive anyway

Mine loves pork scratchings and his seraquin joint supplement tablets Hmm in preference to any other treats. Yoghurt, scrambled eggs, jacket potato, ham and mature cheddar are also deemed acceptable
