Is she even part of this family?! 😂

No matter what treats I buy, she doesn’t like them? Is it normal lll

She looked at me in disgust at the lick a lix!! I held it there lovingly. She smelt it and walked off. I even smeared it on the floor and in her bowl. Nothing!

She’s act starving all day because I ran out of wet food this morning and she won’t touch her dry stuff 🙈🙈 I went to the shop at lunch time and bout some new stuff called hi life?

She won’t bloody touch it!

She was on royal Caine and it’s £7.50 for a box of 12. She has 2/3 a day 🙈

I've had one of my cats for over ten years and he's never eaten anything other than cat food! He's healthy but very boring...

mistermagpie · 11/11/2019 21:38

His brother used to love frozen chips. Like uncooked, still frozen ones. And Heinz tomato soup! He died a couple of years ago but it wasn't diet related, hopefully...

TrainspottingWelsh · 11/11/2019 21:45

One of mine won't eat most treats, bar the odd chew sticks and lik-e-liks. Will take prawns but only to bat around the floor.

However does have a wide ranging taste, provided she first sees you eating it. Preferably when you're eating it.

Have you tried cheap wet cat food?

I still think you should gradually change wet to dry. Frustrating and time consuming but worth it.

Bluerussian · 12/11/2019 02:07

I've had several cats and only one ever liked treats - Dreamies. She used to go mad for them, bless her. The others wouldn't give you a thank you for them.

Thanks for the pictures! Lovely little cat.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 12/11/2019 02:38

I have one who'll eat anything and one who's a snob. As far as dry food goes they like go cat but I needed a low calorie option as the fussy one is a bit of a chunk in the winter. With much perseverance and a veeeeeery slow introduction we moved them onto a recommended light food.
Wet food, Mrs fussy pants will only eat gourmet pate and fish Sheba in gravy. I've bought more and less expensive wet food and she won't touch it. Other cat likes all sorts of things so sometimes we give them other wet food and fussy mcfuss face just sulks off and eats biscuits.
Human food wise, she'll eat smoked salmon (M&as not Aldi) and she quite likes cream. Her skinny little sister will eat most things, ham, chicken, mince, yoghurt, muffins, crisps. Anything she can her her paws on.

Have you tried ham? Don't give too much because it has a lot of salt but I'm yet to meet a cat who doesn't like it, and I have a cat that doesn't respond to catnip.

Gingaaarghpussy · 12/11/2019 10:20

My cat wont touch ham Smile

YouFellAsleeep · 12/11/2019 14:38

The only treats my kitten will eat are those stick style treats. He won’t eat dreamies or any biscuity type treats - even though he’ll only eat dry food?!

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 12/11/2019 14:54

Mines are fussy too though it’s only meat in gravy with no fish. They don’t like fish 😂. And they only eat go cat indoor cat food too

WaningGibbous · 12/11/2019 15:04

When ours came home we had to cycle through every dry food available to find the one they would actually eat. I remember chuntering onto them about if it were not for me they would be on the streets starving but they still didn't care and have various strict policies around food. Roast chicken off the floor - yes. Left over chicken in their bowl- nope.

eddiemairswife · 12/11/2019 15:16

My cat is desperate to eat whatever I am eating.

Gingaaarghpussy · 12/11/2019 15:23

Lidl do cat treats too.

ifonly4 · 12/11/2019 16:10

It might be that treats are either hard or her taste buds haven't developed enough to enjoy anything different. Try again in a few months. The only time treats are essential (ie not needed for nutrition) are to blackmail them out of a room or hide medication in!

iklboo · 12/11/2019 16:23

Primula / dairylea (in small doses)?

TroysMammy · 12/11/2019 20:42

eddiemairswife I've got one of those too, he goes mental when he hears my rice krispies snap crackling and popping and everything else is fair game. I should have named him Dyson as he always has his nose to the floor snuffling up crumbs.
