Anyone else's cats have personal space issues?

I,e, I'm not allowed any when cheddar is around. My face and neck must be available for kneading , slobbering and sneezing on and my lap must always be available for sitting on. Knees are for planting front paws on. My meals are all for her to eat. She's gorgeous but I'm all touched out!

I could swap you for an Ollie? Grin

minkies11 · 26/01/2019 20:31

Aah she obviously adores you and wants to be with you as much as possible! Love it my 2 get like this but have woken up several times with them 'grooming' my hair. And have had them get in my bath. No locks on any of my doors :(

mimibunz · 26/01/2019 20:34

Enjoyed a lovely soak in the tub, rubbed on my favourite body lotion and made my way to the living room only to discover the Bunz curled up on my spot on the sofa. So yes, in that regard he has issues with personal space. On the other hand, I have to ask for permission to pick him up for a cuddle....Confused

HouseyMcHouseFace · 26/01/2019 20:37

Oh my, your cat is adorable! I currently have this little idiot on my lap. I am required to hold his paw at all times. If I dare to stroke him I’m savaged though.

@Ollivander84 he's welcome to come and live with me. If I'm sitting in the toilet she has her paws on my knees or rolling around on the bath mat. If I'm in the Bath she has her paws on the side of the bath with a horrified expression on her face!

Haven't slept through the night in a decade. Mr C likes me to lie stock still for all 8 hours, eyes clamped shut, a paw's breadth away in case he needs me. He is on the pillow a whisker away. Snores. Dribbles on my head.

When he was staying in hospital I missed his tuna breath and got insomnia Grin

minkies11 · 26/01/2019 20:48

Love a good cat thread! Don't know what I'd do without my two hooligans.

maxbabi · 26/01/2019 20:55

I have a mum and her two boys all demanding neck or arms and one will sit on my neck whilst on the loo. They follow me everywhere! I do love them more than my kids Grin

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 26/01/2019 20:56

There is no 'personal space', there is only Cat Space and those privileged humans who are always required sometime allowed to share it and be drooled upon.

yetanothernewusername1 · 26/01/2019 20:58

I have to reserve enough space for not one, but four of the little fur balls!!! Good job they're all so cute! Pregnant mum decided to move in and give birth in my wardrobe and this is the result...

His face 😍😍

My kitten follows me everywhere. Sits at my feet while I'm on the toilet, sits on the toilet while I'm in the bath but recently won't cuddle up on my lap when she sleepsSad first few days she was always on my lap now she climbs offSad

Ski37 · 26/01/2019 21:03

Mine invades my personal space every morning- he comes in and starts to lick my face and when I push him away he will sit next to me staring down at me and put a paw on my face (thankfully with his claws tucked well in) gradually increasing the pressure until I move him again. His final trick to make me get up and feed him is then to turn around and back up slowly before plonking his furry bum on my head. This usually does the trick!

Ski37 · 26/01/2019 21:05

He also loves to follow me to the toilet and wind himself around my ankles. I’ve given up shutting the door as it’s not worth the yowling and scratching at the door!

No space issues at all

I'm glad my pixie cat isn't the only one who follows to the toilet and sits and waits while I bath, poor girl had a bit of a shock though this morning as while sat on the side of the bath while I showered she fell in and got rather wet

Toddlerteaplease · 26/01/2019 21:27

I haven't had a full nights sleep since August, Cheddar is currently spark out on her cushion. She tells me she's exhausted!

Personal space, what's that?
My kids were never this clingy. The cats follow me everywhere. When I go away for anything more than a couple of nights I have to facetime the bastards as they just cry for me. Then of course on FT they just scream questions.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/01/2019 22:35

My girls cattery were asking if anyone would want FaceTime with their cats offered as a service. I pointed out that my two would be completely bamboozled by it!

sweetkitty · 26/01/2019 22:40

Just when they feel like it of course. At other times if you touch them they will act like your hands are acid and run away.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/01/2019 06:26

Ha ha. My lot have never done that'

picklemepopcorn · 27/01/2019 07:23

What breed is Cheddar, OP?

sashh · 27/01/2019 07:32

I get a rest from mine if there is a male in the house. Normally she sleeps on me. When my dad visits she sits on him, sleeps on his bed, follows him around and generally ignores me.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/01/2019 11:53

She's a Persian Exotic.

theworldistoosmall · 27/01/2019 13:26

Yea acid hands. One of mine is like that. Makes weird noises as he legs it. Then will sit glaring at me, making weird little chirping noises. A couple of minutes and all is forgiven and he's invading my space again.
