Best cat bed under £20?

The stray longhair tabby girl I feed has decided I'm Mum now, after I cuddled her on my chest for 3hours on fireworks night (she was yowling in terror in the garden) . What cat bed would anyone recommend? I got a bit overwhelmed by choice on Wish & Amazon.

A nice pile of clean clothes will win over any cat bed

werekitty · 17/11/2018 14:27

The cat bed I got mine sits in my bedroom untouched but she much prefers my bed / sitting on me / her furry throw

My boy loves radiator hammocks. They like being up high, feels safe, and of course now the heating is on, it's lovely and cosy. If he is not sleeping in that, he is on a bed, or he makes a nest in a bedroom chair full of clothes.

A lap is the best bed for our Mog Smile

A cardboard box with a towel in the bottom. Or your bed. Or an expensive cushion you already own on the sofa. Grin

Got mine a really nice quite expensive cat bed - 2.5 years in, they have still not even placed a foot on it and in fact will tie themselves in knots to avoid it.One is currently in my bed, the other on a pile of old clothes in the bottom of the wardrobe. Later on, one will lie on the back of the sofa, the other in his seat on what USED to be MY furry throw.

She is suddenly a cuddly mummy's girl after a year of 'don't touch me!'. I just want to spoil her after a tough stray life with a bed as well as my lap & the fleece throw she loves kneading 😁

A box with a towel in. Cats don’t sleep in beds designed for them, only in other things.

Heratnumber7 · 17/11/2018 14:41

Don't waste your money. She'll never use it! Smile

Our cats have only used cat beds if they are the warmest place available. I'd see where she likes to sleep. Sometimes they like those igloo beds.

MrsBertBibby · 17/11/2018 14:43

Mine does now use the smart dome one my partner bought her, but only having trampled it down so she sleeps on the roof. Never got her to go inside it.

She only likes it because it is positioned over a load of super warm central heating pipes.

rosydreams · 17/11/2018 14:46

if you do get a bed spray with feliway cats dont like the smell of unfamiliar things

if you do decide to get one get one that they can hide in they prefer something enclosed

something like this

www.amazon.co.uk/Bunty-Wicker-Kitten-Basket-Sleeping/dp/B079YVS9CW/ref=sr_1_11?s=pet-supplies&keywords=cat+cave&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1542465827&sr=1-11

but if you dont care about appearance you can get the same from a card board box with a hole in the side and a pile of old towels

My cats sleep in this.
They have another done upstairs in my daughters room that they sleep in.

Or they just lie flat out in our beds with their heads on the pillows and their bottom legs under the quilt like little humans

No picture? Shock

OP how can we possibly suggest a particular bed without payment in the form of a gratuitous kitty pic?

that's cute, I really like it!

I love the shark! And them being like little people tucked up in your bed!

Snorg has fine and uses them all. Cheddar prefers towels.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/11/2018 15:42

I recommend Lazy days pet beds. Custom made and really good prices. Covers all washable.

CSIblonde · 17/11/2018 15:42

Pascha
Yes, usually flat on her back, paws akimbo and snoring her head off really loudly! Those all look great!

Snorg loves her teepee

The floofyness! Gorgeous girl. The tepee appeals too as its lightweight, plus she loves hidey holes 😀. I've named my girl Mia now. She's currently skidding round the floor after a feathery mouse.

Any fleece blanket, although they steer clear of anything resembling a cat bed, even with fleece blanket inserted!

Excuse the bum but Arthur does lurrrrve his hammock!

One of mine uses the cat beds but only I think because she is a nervous cat and they were safe places when she arrived as a kitten.

Other than that it is my bed, any pile of clothing or fabric even better if you don't want them there, anywhere on the carpet that central heating pipes run near, anywhere with a bit of sun.

If your radiators can stand one of the fleecy radiator hammocks, they love those. Unfortunately my cats all my radiators are doubles so no hammocks to fit.
