PLEASE help me name our new rescue cat!

I am not a cat person. At all. Then I went with a friend to look at rescue kittens and was absolutely taken in by one of the adult cats who had been abandoned in a garden when his owners moved house.

He's so friendly and loving and brilliant with the kids we've been visiting him at the rescue I'm converted! Can't wait to bring him home.

We've passed our home check and he was neutered yesterday so hopefully he'll be with us by the end of the week.

But I can't think of a name!!

I want something different as opposed to Socks, Felix, Smudge etc. But not something too silly because it'll be called out at the vets Blush nothing seems to suit him.

I like Hugo, Freddie, Sidney, Oliver, Mouse.

Help!

Yes, he has a ring on his tail! I didn't realise how obvious it was until I posted that picture. The rescue centre have named him Ringo so we fancy something new!

Frodo?! Get it?! Ahem...

Oh he was purring away while his new daddy DH was holding him. I couldn't believe it! Just started snapping away and when we got home and looked at the pictures we realised what a poser he is!

I love Toby but friend just had a baby one so might be a bit odd. Basil is sweet too!

They think he's just turned 1 :)

It was MUCH easier naming the guinea pigs!! I'd just get it over with and name him Cat but that's my name!

He's gorgeous and looks like he has lots of personality!

DD has suggested Patch. I think he needs something grander, I like Hugo but what about the MN favourite Ptolemy. I also like Envelope.

Was going to say Buster or Buddy as he looks like he's going to be cheeky but then you said about your surname!

Gorgeous cat! You guys are going to have so much pleasure having a new owner

(You need to learn quickly the he owns you not the other way round...it's in the cat law rule book which can also change at any given whim!)

Oh and if you want the best seat in the house from now - shift the cat!

Envelope 😂 I think DH would wonder if I'd lost the plot.

LOVE Arthur but bad family member, love Ralph but it's DH's crazy friend's name! We need to stop knowing people!

Ooh weird, I did originally have Eric on the list because I'm it allowed to use it for a baby but I don't think DH wants it for a cat either. Spoil sport.

I literally never thought I'd be this excited to bring a cat home! He'll have his own room (the stupidly large utility!) and when he's ready to go out there's a giant horse field joined onto our garden. A world away from the pen he's in where he's currently being hissed at by four feral cats :(

I will probably be on the Litter Tray forum from now on asking questions such as "how often do I feed him?" as I'm clueless! (Twice a day, right?!)
