I am not a cat person. At all. Then I went with a friend to look at rescue kittens and was absolutely taken in by one of the adult cats who had been abandoned in a garden when his owners moved house.

He's so friendly and loving and brilliant with the kids we've been visiting him at the rescue I'm converted! Can't wait to bring him home.

We've passed our home check and he was neutered yesterday so hopefully he'll be with us by the end of the week.

But I can't think of a name!!

I want something different as opposed to Socks, Felix, Smudge etc. But not something too silly because it'll be called out at the vets Blush nothing seems to suit him.

I like Hugo, Freddie, Sidney, Oliver, Mouse.

Help!

PLEASE help me name our new rescue cat!

I think you've got to go with Frodo!

You'll never call him that though.

Leroy is Ro-RoBerry, Ro-Burrs or (eg) Mummysbabyfluffbo
Harlequin (RIP) was Boggy Monster, et al
Columbine (RIP) was Kitty Fur, et al
Toad (RIP) was Tippy Tootle, et al
Curry (RIP) was Cuzzabum, et al
PaddyPaws (RIP) was Puddly, et al

😁

Ring-a-ding? (on second thoughts sounds too much like Ding-a-ling...)

Halo?

Taffeta · 05/09/2018 07:21

I know a good few cats called Eric Grin

Or on the same theme, Ernie

Ern for short

But think Frodo v appropriate

Yes we feed ours twice a day

And Dreamies now come in a BOX 😻

Frazzled2207 · 05/09/2018 07:32

Rings.

I'm not a car person but he is the smuggest cat ever. Congratulations to both you and the cat!

BirthdayKake · 05/09/2018 07:38

Mummysbabyfluffbo Grin

Ok so DH could feed when he leaves for work in the morning. I could feed at tea time.

Oh I bought a pack of Dreamies! Do they actually like them then??

He seemed so offended when the rescue lady locked him back in the pen, I felt awful!

I'm ringing (!) them today to see how his op went. Well, they said they'd phone me to let me know, but if I don't hear anything I may have to harass them!

He has a retained testicle so it's a much bigger op than just the regular snip

Alan. Definitely an Alan.

BedtimeTea · 05/09/2018 09:44

Norman.

simplepimple · 05/09/2018 10:16

He looks like a Simon.

BirthdayKake · 05/09/2018 11:00

No, really! I hope so. I've bought him this mouse shaped toy that you can hide Dreamies in.

Simon is my friend's husband's name 😩

How about Lucas or Luca, he looks a bit like a Lucas. Cats usually love dreamies! I'm sure he'll be scrambling for it like mine does

Couchpotato3 · 05/09/2018 11:13

Dreamies = post popular cat treat EVER. You should immediately purchase every flavour. Or the variety pack or the box, or just the whole lot, because he's worth it.
Ringo is such a cool name - do you HAVE to change it?

Couchpotato3 · 05/09/2018 11:17

PS My cats lurve cheese flavour Dreamies.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 05/09/2018 11:18

Riggs

Thecatisboss · 05/09/2018 11:30

Dreamies have to be put away in a cat proof cupboard, otherwise ours will pig out on them, biting through the bag to get at them.

BirthdayKake · 05/09/2018 11:39

Cheese?!

Biting through the bag?!?!

Oh my god...

DH doesn't like the name Ringo for some reason. I'll ask him again!

I would of loved Reggie for a cat. so we have now named the hedgehog that.

simplepimple · 05/09/2018 16:03

Just sitting here quietly waiting for the big reveal.

BirthdayKake · 05/09/2018 19:56

Hedgehogs ❤️

I rang the rescue and he is COMING HOME TOMORROW!! I'll be picking him up around lunch time.

Anyone got any cat hacks?!

I THINK he's going to be "Frodo" because of the ring in his tail...

Thecatisboss · 05/09/2018 20:00

Frodo is a great name and he’s such a handsome chap.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 05/09/2018 20:16

He's beautiful - you are obviously already totally in thrall to him so I think it's fair to say that the relationship between you will be long and happy!

We've always taken adult rescue cats because they can be harder to re-home than kittens. He will bring you such joy!

Moominfan · 05/09/2018 20:22

Oliver through and through

BellaShLex · 05/09/2018 20:36

He's gorgeous! He'd make a brilliant Patrick Grin

AndromedaPerseus · 05/09/2018 21:34

Whose the hench bloke holding him in the first photo?
