Help! I need kitten names. I'm stumped.

We're getting girl / boy sibling Siamese. I want literary names that I won't be embarrassed calling out of the kitchen door!

I quite like fantasy names, and quite liked Solembum and Maud - but I simply cannot shout Solembum in public and retain my dignity. I also liked Pyramus and Thisbe - but again - Pyramus is not a shoutable name.

Any suggestions?

I grew up with 3 Siamese cats , they were all very different but amazing ! They had very unusual names taken from their pedigrees and shortened . I miss them all still!

we have Cleocatra, Neferkitti and Tutankatmun.

Cleo, Neff and Toots for short/shouting out the door to get them in for tea.

I don't mind sharing our names so if you like them feel free.

They are however registered with the vets under their 'full' names which was a tad embarassing but the receptionists and vet nurses love it when we take them in now. and sometimes the other vets will poke their heads round the door and say "is that the cat called XXX?" with a big grin on their face.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/06/2018 16:39

@soupforbrains, they are the best cat names ever. I persuaded a bishop friend to get cats and was trying to get him to call them Episcopuss, and Catacheumen. To my eternal disappointment he stuck with the names they came with.

Not literary at all, but how about naming them after Thai islands, Ko Phi Phi and Ko Chang, for example?

Bookemdannoplease · 04/06/2018 18:47

I taught my cats to come in for dinner when I whistled-worked a treat!
