My gorgeous Sphynx boy is currently at the vets, very poorly. He was fine this morning then went down hill very quickly, the vet said that cats hide illness very well.
He was struggling to breathe and not acting ‘himself’. The vet has put him on oxygen therapy and she wants to do x rays. I’ve been sent home to wait. She’s just called to say that they haven’t x rayed him yet (stressed) but they’ve done an ultrasound on his heart and can see that the top two chambers (?) are two and a half times bigger than they should be which will mean fluid on his lungs. They’ve given him medication to try clear the fluid.
She said there’s a 50/50 chance he may pull through. I’m so sad, he’s due to turn 4 in September. She said that for such a young cat he’s ‘really really poorly’.
