Very sad today, he's been with us since we rescued him 15 years ago. He was nearly 20. Had to be PTS this afternoon. I had forgotten how big a space they leave. Sad

I'm so sorry. It is definitely worst thing about having cats but it sounds like he had a good and long life with you.
RIP gorgeous boy Flowers

What a beauty and what a hero for reaching such a grand old age Flowers

ScreamingValenta · 22/03/2018 18:35

I'm so sorry. He looks very noble and dignified in your picture. He reached a grand old age so he must have been very happy and healthy with you Flowers.

PositivelyPERF · 22/03/2018 18:36

Oh I am sorry. I’ve six cats and they’re all 17yrs plus. It breaks my heart when I see them getting old. He looked adorable. Was he a small kitty, OP. He looks small in the photo.

Rudgie47 · 22/03/2018 19:06

Thats a good age,he must have thived with you.
RIP kitty.

fresh · 22/03/2018 19:13

Thank you all, I knew you'd all be lovely. Actually he used to be a very fat cat indeed and we had to put him on a diet! His nickname was still Fatso even though he was svelte these days.

What a handsome lad, he must have had the best life with you to have lived so long.

bobstersmum · 22/03/2018 19:34

So sorry what a beautiful boy he was, heartbreaking losing a pet, they really are one of the family!

Ah, that's so sad Thanks but he did have a good innings so to speak.
It sounds like he had a loving home with you.
Yes, the furry buggers do get into your heart, don't they?

Want2beme · 22/03/2018 21:31

What a handsome kitty he was! So sorry x

sweetkitty · 23/03/2018 00:16

So so sorry my old boy died in September we all still miss him terribly. The house is just not the same. I think we will be ready for some kittens come the summer to fill that cat shaped gap in our lives.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 23/03/2018 09:03

I'm so sorry to hear this. Big hugs to you, and to DCat2. x

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 23/03/2018 12:19

I'm so sorry. He was a gorgeous boy Flowers

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 23/03/2018 12:24

What a lovely cat. I'm so sorry, OP, this is the shit bit of loving pets. Just remember how much he enjoyed his life with you and what a charmed and long life that was. Thanks

girlandboy · 23/03/2018 12:33

So sorry!

He obviously fell on his feet when you took him in. His little face is lovely, look at those eyes. I'm sure you'll miss him Flowers

fresh · 23/03/2018 13:45

Gosh, thank you all for being so lovely. I know it was the right thing to do, and he did have a lovely life with us. He was a really gentle cat (although I suspect was actually half cat/half gannet given the speed at which he could sense the presence of food within 30 yards). I don't half miss him today though; the house feels like something good is missing. But thanks again for all your commiserations, they have helped!

What a gorgeous face - and a good old age. Doesn't help with the hole or the emptiness they leave though. Is your other cat looking for him? Flowers

Tartyflette · 26/03/2018 01:22

He sounds quite a character! And such a lovely face too. Much sympathy to you, you will miss him very much.
I still think I catch fleeting glimpses of Mad Miss Tartycat whooshing past me in the house even though she's been gone for a few years now.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 26/03/2018 01:28

What a lovely old gent. Thank you for giving him the last act of kindness that you could.

Sleep tight Fatso, you furry little bugger.
