What's your cat's personality like?

I got mine when she was 4, 9 years ago, she is very friendly and gentle (she was the runt of the litter) and at the same time a very inquisitive, sensitive, trembling little beast.

She doesn't seem to bond with other cats, I sometimes wonder if she's rejected by her kind :(

She's a lady. Very dignified and gentle. But affection very much on her terms. Still a little nervous after being adopted 4 months ago.

Friendly with people she knows but v wary of strangers. Likes to sit by you but not on you, except at night in bed when she wants to be around your neck.
Hates all other cats in the neighbourhood except for two males, we don't know why they are accepted.

No other cats allowed in the back garden, squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs are fine but they must not set foot on the patio, if they do they will be chased off.

We have had her for 7 years and she hasn't changed much.

Libbyboy is outgoing and friendly to everyone, cuddly lap cat. Prone to mad half hours if he hasn't been outside enough to work off his energy but he doesn't like the rain or if it's too cold so I suspect there's a long winter ahead.

Libbygirl timid and anxious, keeps to herself pretty much. Unfortunately an avid hunter.

Big cat thinks she is above everything, she looks at you like 'will you just fuck off' if you attempt to play with her or stroke her or happen to walk into the room in which she is sleeping. That is apart from if everyone else (including little cat) are in bed when she will jump on my lap and bump heads.

Little cat is like what's his face from 'some mothers do 'ave em' full of beans but ultimately and absolute walking disaster.

Affectionate on her terms, so she will sit on my lap when she wants to, not when I want her to. Likes routine. Quite nervy, even though we have had her since a kitten three years ago and she came from a good mum/home.

Got mine aged five. Initially very timid and had never lived in a house before. 2 years on. Fatty is still very timid around strangers. But very affectionate when she trusts you. She’s slightly brighter than her sister but not overly endowed with brains. Snorg is very affectionate, eats anything and is a bit more confident. Snuffles and snores. She will nudge me if I’m not in the right position. She was definitely not in the queue when it comes to brains! Both extremely well behaved but completely un Cat like.

Neurotic. In the extreme.

A strumpet with any stranger in the house, in particular male strangers, she loves to be on the knee of a male.

She spends half her life being confused by life and the other being a naughty child.

MattCat doesn't know she's a cat. She's a rescue and we think she's about 5. We had to teach her how to play as she really didn't know how! It took months and we finally cracked it with a laser toy.

She growls like a dog at strangers, other cats, and loved ones wearing hats, will only leave the house twice a day for 20 mins in order to secure the perimeter of the garden, and will only eat one kind of dry food. She won't eat any human food at all. She requires us to watch her eat and will repeatedly wake us in the morning until we finally go downstairs. She is able to do this alone whenever she wishes yet chooses not to

She loves fuss and cuddles but hates being picked up. She's my autisticat and I love her.

I have a grumpy, warrior like female cat who is slim and extremely beautiful with huge green eyes. She sulks, hisses at boycat, gets annoyed if we aren't at her beck and call...
Then there is boycat (also a rescue). Rescued as a starving kitten and hungry ever since! Obviously he is fed btw... He is a softie, very bonded with me but wary of men in general. Neither of them play anymor much.

Mia is nearly nine, very affectionate to us and to anybody who sets foot in the house, excellent with children. She is very anxious if dogs or other cats are around. She's definitely a quitter not a fighter and to be honest a little bit dim. Obsessed with cardboard boxes and suitcases, loves warm pipes and high up space where she feels safe. Not greedy but mostly clears her wet food in the morning in one gulp, she was a stray before we got her from a rescue and even after eight years it's clear the experience of having been starving hungry won't ever leave her.

He’s an idiot. Seriously. I’ve done a few of those cat IQ tests and he came out as ‘lower than average’
He’s very bonded to me and if I’m sitting down he’s generally on my lap. Unless he’s already asleep somewhere when I sit down. He sleeps for most of the day and then sleeps all night on the end of our bed, sometimes he creeps up the bed and lies next to me like a teddy bear.
Basically he’s a cuddly idiot. He gets bullied by most of the other cats in the neighbourhood. I think he tries to be friends but they seem to enjoy beating him up. He a people cat rather than a cat cat.

My 2 were from a rescue about 18 months ago, had been part of a feral colony until they were a year old then stuck at the rescue for another year. Kept indoors due to their background, as a condition of my adopting them.

Girlcat is probably about average brains, nicely agile & quite adventurous. Hates being picked up but will tolerate it mostly if I don't try too often. Has never sat on me or next to me but lies on the back of the sofa near me for head scritches & tummy rubs. If i offer to do tummy rubs when she's on the bed during the day she can get quite abandoned (though never ever scratch or bite). She will visit any guests in the house if they don't have the audacity to try to touch her, as hooman slaves don't touch Godesses without invitation.

Boycat is thick as shit, really really the thickest cat I have ever met - took him 14 months to realise that he could join his sister sleeping on the bed during the day. He's also very clumsy, fell off the arm of the sofa once when he woke up with a start. Terrified of anyone or anything except me, his sister, food and Dreamies. Sits at the other end of the sofa kneading his throw until I sit next to him & do tummy rubs, when he purrs with a sort of snore & dribbles. Can't touch him on my bed at night when he jumps on, but not allowed to get up until he's had at least 15 mins of tummy rubs in the morning.

Both sleep around 18-20 hours every day, and their favorite time for crashing round the house playing chase is approximately 10-15 minutes after my light goes out at night whatever time that may be.

I have 3 cats. The eldest is a real lady, if she spoke she would sound like Joanna Lumley. She is aloof, will sit on my lap but won’t tolerate any cuddles. Is always on my lap and incredibly affectionate when fresh meat is served.
My old Boy is so chilled, if he had a voice he would be an Australia surfer and call everyone “dude” he is very talkative and walks around meowing lots. His mum was Persian and his dad was a sneaky bugger who got into the mumso maybe his Persian Heritage makes him vocal.
My newest baby is still only 6 months so is cheeky and playful and loves to lay in wait for the older ones to walk pass and she jumps on them then runs away real fast..
I wouldn’t be ithout them, I lost one earlier this year, hence now having a six month old ruining their piece and quiet.

Marshall is 13 and is clearly IN CHARGE of both us humans and the other cats. He is also a dick. He is very much a cat on his own terms and does things at his own speed unless freshly cooked chicken is involved.

Felix is also 13 and is learning from Marshall to Be a Cat Dick. He likes to go in/out repeatedly and then stand in the doorway so you can't shut the door. Mostly though his greatest thing is sitting above my head at 5am and drooling so bits of it land on my face thus waking me up so I feed him.

Silver is 12, she's a grumpy little madam who prefers to be on her own most of the time. Sometimes she comes and sits with me but mostly she sits on the sofa in the conservatory so she can survey the garden.

Bella is 6 and is a timid cat but is also my baby. She gives kisses on demand and adores me, DD2 and Marshall in equal measure. If Marshall is too slow, she will lick his face much to his disgust.

Coco is 4 and is crazy. She has nothing going on between her ears whatsoever. She gets into next doors garden by going round and walking into it because they have no gate. Then cries at the fence because she can't find her way home. This means DP has to go and get her, setting off next doors security lights.

Pixie is around 1 year old and is our foster cat. She has only been here a week and we are still learning her nature but she likes eating and knocking things off DD2's desk. She also tries to boss Marshall about and hissed in his face the other day while he just looked at her all confused.

Oh and he won't go near other humans. May let my neighbour stroke his head providing I'm also stood there. Has street smarts, managed 4 years stray and 8 days lost from me came back with no voice from crying for me

Boy cat is definitely Jamaican in origin, he’s so laid back he’s horizontal!!! Girl cat is very timid and loves a good fight with boy cat - he’s older at 12 ish and she’s 2.5 years

He swipes the hand that feeds him, good job I love him.

Our cat is a housecat and we do not have too many people visit so she is quite wary of people. She hates me picking her up but does not mind my husband doing it but will sit on my lap but not his. She likes a full bowl of food and will not eat it we are not home. She comes and tells us if she had pooed in her litter tray even if it's at 3pm in the morning ! Likewise if she fancies a stroke.

She was awesome. A completely independent lady. Walked around with her head held high and let you know that there would be no messing with her. She knew she was above us all, and would sometimes give us all this look as if to say "you bunch of loonies, get me out of this madhouse".
Onky she decided when it was cuddle time, which made it even more worth the while when she would hop on for a half an hour snug. And although she pretended to hate the dog, often slapping him round the face with a swift paw, when he passed she sat lonely in his spot at the fireplace for days.
Towards the end she got catsheimers but still I really believe she tried to remain dignified until the end. When i looked into her eyes her soul would tell me "we are too good for this world". She was such a cat. A diva through and through and my best friend for fourteen years.

My boy Is a cheeky chap. He likes to let you know what is happening in the world. He has different calls for different situations. There is a particular meow that I hear coming from way beyond the house, and I know he's caught me a present. If I hear that, I rush to shut available doors and windows, as I know that he'll try to bring it in. He meets me coming home from work, and he runs down the road, meowing like one of those tubes you turn upside down to make a deep growly noise, whilst i open the garage. He then sits to the side until I've finished, and then demands tummy rubs all the way to the door.
He then refuses to come in.
All the neighbours know him, and will tell me when he has a fighting abscess. (Yes, I know, the £70 vets bill let me know there was an issue)
essentially, he loves humans and hates other cats, apart from the late, great Blossom, who was his substitute mum, and they used to snuggle and groom each other.
She was, bless her, thick as mince with attachment issues, but very loving to those she trusted, ie, me and dd
