Here's my old boy. 20 years old, contrary as ever, takes everything for granted, makes a mess wherever he goes, yowls his head off through the night, costs a fortune, poos on the carpet then walks away, up-chucks on regular basis, basically couldn't give a toss, but he's mine and I wouldn't be without him, although I know that time is coming very soon.

Will you share your golden oldies?

xx

This is Phoebe, 15 years young, health problems galore, keeps me up worrying most of the night. Deaf, and loud. I do everything for her and she prefers my boyfriend. Peed in the hallway yesterday and then again this morning in protest to me putting the lid on the enclosed litter tray. Wakes me up at 6am for breakfast. Bites when she's had enough of being stroked, but stands in your chest gazing at your face if you haven't given her enough attention...

We've had her three weeks as a foster, and I can't imagine she'll be going anywhere!

Mine is also 20 years old. He also yowls and craps on the floor. Are we seeing a pattern?

Aren't they all lovely. Brings tears to my eyes.

acatcalledluna what lovely thing you're doing. Mine's been with me for 18 years and has lived the life!

The old ones are the best in my opinion.

They've been around the block and know how to train humans just right. Why pee in the litter box when your human will clean up after you?!

Vinorosso74 · 04/06/2017 19:55

Here is Vinocat having her afternoon nap. At 14 she is a bit younger but is still a senior lady. She's had more than her share of health issues in the last couple of years and is a tad skinny but she's still with us and happy. I do dread the day we lose her as she is such a lovely natured cat.

I do like older kitties and amazing those that reach 20+

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 05/06/2017 10:30

Monty above is the the only one left of three kittens we got at 8 weeks. His sister lasted till she was 14 and his brother to 17. He really missed his brother - they were inseparable (pic enclosed) but he has kept going. He's now going blind, is quite stiff in his joints, and has bad breath but still goes outside for 10 minutes a day to potter about and seems generally cheerful especially when curled up on a lap.

Tiny little old girl. Deceased now, but made it to 20. She bucked the tend by not really talking much at all, but did pee on the floor in her final months.

They're all snoozing, except Weeds. Did she like sitting on plates?

OP posts:
Weedsnseeds1 · 05/06/2017 20:20

That's a very small side plate, she was dinky!
She just liked sitting on stuff really want2beme , any stuff as long as she wasn't meant to be on it ( cat trees were the devil's work and not to be utilised)!

Here is our lady, a mere kitten of 14 years old. But she recently started yowling loudly in the evenings, which indicates she may be ready to join the Seniors club. She's delighted with herself today, because last night she caught her first mouse in two years. I still haven't got all the blood out of the carpet.

The photo of her peering out of the bean bag is the one that most acccurately conveys her personality.

One of my boys has become old suddenly this year. He has a heart murmur and a thyroid problem. He's thin and quite stiff and has started to lie on the floor in the living room near the TV, which he has never done before. He throws up quite often and the tablets I was given to help that don't really help. I fear it is something more, but he seems happy and is still out and about quite a bit when the weather is nice.

His brother has always been less active, so appears younger. He's the one who will tolerate being picked up for a cuddle (don't think they'd ever been picked up before i got them age 6 - they are 14 now), but somehow the other cat is the one who is more appealing, although i live them both.

Sorry, I don't have a current photo of them

Want2beme · 05/06/2017 22:11

Mine suddenly turned old nearly a year ago. He went all stiff & wobbly from arthritis. He also has hyperthyroidism, mega colon, is slightly deaf, the list grows.
