I'm hoping someone can better me! Bloody bloody Coco knocked my TV off the stand last night... picked it up to discover the screen is smashed and beyond all repair. I've only had it 10 months! Please, someone, make me feel better!

Mine dipped her paw into the fish tank a few weeks ago and flipped out a goldfish. Luckily I noticed so the fish survived. I am sorry about your TV. You might be able to claim for it on household insurance.

crumpetsandcoffee · 02/04/2017 10:00

Just all my oak doors I had put in about a year before I got them! Ones fine and uses the FOUR scratch posts I have, but the other seems to like doors! All of them! Wouldn't be without them though!

Soubriquet · 02/04/2017 10:03

Carpets

The rubber sealant stuff you have around your bathroom floor. She's removed every single piece of this. Little shit

Littlemissindependent · 02/04/2017 10:44

Ooh yes soubriquet Coco has removed all the sealant from around my windows and doors too. I think she hates me...

The underside of my sofa Angry. They liked to climb up into it after they made the first hole, now it's all hole! Could be worse

Trustyourself2 · 02/04/2017 10:49

So many things. Scratched, peed & pood on carpets, now removed - cats and carpets do not go together. Scratched wallpaper, but that's fine, as I hate wallpaper. Smashed expensive glasses, so I don't bother buying them anymore. Scratched and puked on furniture. Puked on brand new framed photo of my great niece. Its endless............

gamerchick · 02/04/2017 10:53

Can you claim on insurance OP? My telly is exactly the reason mines locked out of the living room overnight. It even has its own insurance just because I don't trust the cat.

Mines destroying my health, ruddy allergies Angry it would make my life so much easier if she would let me Hoover her a few times a day.

Potentialmadcatlady · 02/04/2017 11:23

Every single toilet roll I have bought since she got here...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 02/04/2017 11:44

Sev still seeks out earphones and mobile chargers to bite through the cables. It's only ever one bite.

And he carefully removed the silicone joints underneath the windows (ok, they are old and dried out and I need to redo them anyway).

QueSera · 02/04/2017 11:59

Two brand-new sofas. Ignores the scratching posts and used the sofas instead Confused No point replacing them as he'll just destroy any replacement - so we have to live with these i guess!?
Also our sleep - every night - howls every couple of hours for food

Love the crazy little furball though!

Sorry about your tv. Insurance maybe? I had a puppy years ago who pulled down our tv too (also ripped apart the sofa cushions, pulled down all the laundry and chewed it and peed everywhere - all in a couple of hours)

Littlemissindependent · 02/04/2017 13:19

In my stupidity, it wasn't insured Angry. She also likes to chew through phone chargers. Given that she's Siamese/Birman cross I knew she'd be high maintenance... but she's crazy!

Isn't it covered by the house insurance?.

StewieGMum · 02/04/2017 15:16

The couch and chair. They once managed to knock a sealed tin of neon pink paint out of a cupboard. It went everywhere - thankfully laminate flooring so I could wipe that up. Showering 4 cats: not quite as easy. The dim one once knocked a laptop off the kitchen table breaking the screen - by the most incredible coincidence ever the model was subject to a recall and Apple replaced it for free!

The absolute worse: one of the little fuckers knocked a frying pan off the kitchen counter that they weren't allowed to be on which landed directly on my nose. One black eye and a very small fracture later. Shock

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 02/04/2017 17:34

My entire double bed surround and headboard.

I kid you not.

Is (was?) luxuriously-padded, fake leather.

She started with the odd, experimental scratch, promptly stopped by me, but clearly the temptation overcame her...I came back from an overnight visit to find she'd systematically worked her way round.

Beyond repair now, so essentially one almighty flipping scratch post...

shesnotme · 02/04/2017 17:40

The sofa twat puppy also

WeirdAndPissedOff · 02/04/2017 19:05

For the first 25 years of my life, and through 7 different cats, we lost curtains, sofas and the odd Christmas decoration.
And then we got Kizzy......
In two years she's destroyed ornaments, carpets, wallpaper on an entire wall, peed on clean washing piles (not stressed, just refuses to use a litter tray if another cat has even looked at it), and sent our 7kg male cat to the vets with tail injuries (when she was 7 weeks and

DevelopingDetritus · 02/04/2017 19:15

The fur on the side of his body, well, a bit anyway, he pulls some of it out.
Another cat we had knocked a nice glass ornament off. She had one of those medical collars on at the time, so misjudged the gap. Sad

Oldraver · 02/04/2017 19:44

A faux leather bed. By the time we got rid of it there was no 'leather' on the footboard and was down to the cotton. We used to find the little specks of pleather all over the shop... and used to send me into a frenzy thinking he had fleas..

Not destroyed as much...but yesterday I had to dig up my much loved Day Lily plants as he has been trying to eat them

Puffinsareblackandwhite · 02/04/2017 23:29

My sanity? Grin

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 02/04/2017 23:42

In our previous house dc had destroyed the carpet under the bottom step which was open. 8 months after moving we often find him lying in his back trying to wedge under the closed bottom step. Bless him
He's destroyed my heart as I honestly don't know how dd and I would cope without him. Dh is totally in love too

Everyone is scared of him or thinks he's horrible but amusing but he is the most characterful cat I've ever known

The arch typical stroke me 3 times and I love it, out your hand within 5 foot of me and I'll kill you kinda boy. Full of surprises

Dd and I were in the garden all afternoon and he was beside himself. He wanted to be inside but he can't leave us unguarded so he suffered. And boy did we suffer
He's just unique ha.

Coughingchildren5 · 02/04/2017 23:43

Mine sharpens her claws on wall paper

Toddlerteaplease · 04/04/2017 17:36

My nerves. They are in shreds. One almost died and then month later the other one fractured her jaw. No idea how a lazy beanbag of a cat managed that one!

OrraBoralis · 05/04/2017 10:08

My skin on my hands and feet. She is maturing a bit now at 7 months but I had forgotten how rippy their tiny claws are. She is now mouthing us and getting told NO! makes no difference. New thread coming from me I think.

Weedsnseeds1 · 05/04/2017 10:12

Mine removed the kick boards from under the kitchen cabinets. Not sure how as I'd need a crowbar to get them out!

Ruhrpott · 05/04/2017 10:15

Mine has destroyed many, many cups, bowls, plates etc, etc. Anytime he feels slightly hungry he goes and pushes everything off the kitchen surfaces with his paw. Nothing is safe. Makes you keep the surfaces clear though!
