He's here!!

He's settled in so well

Constantly nuzzling and wanting cuddles

Soft as dog much and actually wags his tail when he's happy. Weird cat

Toots isn't too impressed he's here. I've made a little room for her upstairs with her litter box and everything so she doesn't have to come downstairs if she doesn't want to. When she's in the house she spends her time upstairs

He wasn't too bothered by her, he hissed to her reaction but otherwise wasn't too bothered

His biggest flaw at the moment is his claws. He clings on to you in case you put him down and they are sharp! He's currently padding away at my arm as we speak

For those who don't know his background, he's a one year old rescue picked up as a stray when a kitten

He's been in kennels all his life and has never had a home because he has IBS

www.icatcare.org/advice/how-guides/how-introduce-new-adult-cat-your-cat Please read this.

We didn't know about this years ago when we introduced our cats to each other and they never got on for the next 15 years.

Toots, as resident cat ought to take priority.

Soubriquet · 09/12/2016 18:15

Ta.

She is getting the priority treatment where she can.

The room is for her benefit really as like I said she spends most of her time up there anyway.

Blue won't be allowed upstairs until they get on so she has the safe area of upstairs to her hearts content

I think someone is settling in nicely

LetBartletBeBartlet · 09/12/2016 18:29

Awwwwwww!

LivingInMidnight · 10/12/2016 08:38

Grin he's home! I imagine he's going to be doing some serious investigation of your house now!

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 10:34

No!

We seem to have bought Garfield

All he does is sleep!

OP posts:
LivingInMidnight · 10/12/2016 12:43

Even overnight? Maybe he just needs to build up enough energy before he starts causing havoc... Confused

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 12:52

Even overnight. He spent all night sleeping on the pouffee.

And he's there now

He only moved for two reasons...food or poo

LivingInMidnight · 10/12/2016 13:07

He's probably just not quite sure what's going on at the moment. Thinking about it the one I got who had spent her life in the shelter was completely baffled by things like furniture and being allowed to leave 'her' room. She's much more timid than blue though, so hopefully he'll pick it up faster!

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 13:16

I think cos it's his first home, he's enjoying his freedom

Plus his IBS is flaring up at the moment so maybe he's feeling a bit under the weather at the moment

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 13:43

How is Toots doing? Smile

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 13:46

She's really not happy.
I'm a little worried actually

She won't come downstairs and if I go near her and she smells him on me she hisses at me

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 13:57

Go upstairs and read/watch a movie/Mumsnet on the bed. With a hottie. Wink

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 13:58

Planning on doing that soon. Just waiting for a delivery which is due any minute now

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 14:14

Good thinking. Smile

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 15:41

Took some coaxing into the bedroom but here she is having some one on one time

He's here!!
OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 15:42

She doesn't look too happy - even from the back - but the one-on-one should help. Fingers crossed. Smile

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 15:43

No that's actually her completely relaxed. She's not a nice cat really but I wouldn't wish her to be miserable either. She's purring away and looks nice and relaxed now.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 15:45

Ah. That's good then. (I was thinking that she looked very unrelaxed. You know her best, though.) Smile

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 15:47

This look a bit better? She's licking and nibbling me

He's here!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/12/2016 16:03

She'll be a different cat post spay. Calms them right down.

There are times I'd like to get Dh booked in.

Soubriquet · 10/12/2016 16:14

We are getting a phone call on Monday from the vets. We are eligible for vouchers to help towards spaying but despite applying months ago, none have arrived.

The vets have said that the CPL are notorious at not delivering these vouchers so they are going to have a word with head office and see if they will approve a payment plan.

Will have to pay a lump sum deposit and a decent amount a week but we are happy to do that

cozietoesie · 10/12/2016 16:18

Gosh. I'd forgotten that she wasn't neutered. As Fluffy said, it will make a big difference to her.
