We have two and I'm thinking of getting another one - which will be the last Blush

Four too many

Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2016 10:33

Two but which is enough in a tiny house. But still have a hankering for another.

2 but have just been offered a kitten and am tempted. would my 5 year old girls mind?

intricatedispostion · 29/10/2016 10:41

5 - but I do have 4 kittens. Smile The trouble is I'm finding the process of letting them go quite difficult and may have to keep them all!

VixenLupin · 29/10/2016 10:44

Not enough. We have 1 - supposed to have 2 but one has rehomed himself down the road. Thinking of getting a kitten or two. Or all the kittens, everywhere.

CatAnnoyance · 29/10/2016 10:48

I have two, but if it was up to me I'd have more. My partner has to rein me in when it comes to cats. I'd be bringing all sorts home. Grin

AnneElliott · 29/10/2016 10:50

I have 4 and it is a lot harder work than just 2! Would have more though if j had a bigger house.

MrsLettuce · 29/10/2016 11:00

I have two, a 10 year old and a big kitten. Considering a finding third though, they are siamese and don't do at all well as only cats...

MrsLettuce · 29/10/2016 11:02

Well, what I mean is siamese don't transition well from having cat friends to being only cats. As a general rule. I'm sure there are people who have an only siamese who's just fine.

5

  • 3 adopted
  • 2 found in garden trying to eat bird food (several years apart) - I think people may abandon cats in the forest near my house - but in the winter they starve
Puffinity · 29/10/2016 12:02

One, and I think she wouldn't take too kindly to having to share - it's bad enough when DH and I are talking to each other instead of to her :)

thecatneuterer · 29/10/2016 12:04

Currently in the region of 30 I think. But only Grin about 21 of those are permanent residents.

VimFuego101 · 29/10/2016 12:21
  1. Too many tbh - they are more of a pack now and don't want to sit on my lap. They don't all get along and one of them pees everywhere.
lottieandmia · 29/10/2016 12:41

We have quite a big house so I think there is enough space for three. I love the two we have so much - I've become a cat addict! It's ironic because dd2 nagged me for a full 2 years until I gave in and now she's the one saying 'don't you think two is enough' Grin I suppose it helps that the two we have are perfectly behaved and never have any 'accidents'.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/10/2016 12:42

1 but he's a noisy Bengal so one is enough.

cozietoesie · 29/10/2016 12:44

One at the moment - but he's an elderly Siamese who hates other cats. Really, really hates them.

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 29/10/2016 12:48

We have 3 now.

We had a rescue brother and sister for 15 years. When the brother died, we got a kitten who came into season immediately.

I was very ill so we arranged to keep kitten indoors and spay once season was over. Older cat smashed off the cat flap and let kitten out, meanwhile I was hospitalised over Christmas so could not arrange for a vet visit. She had her kittens at the beginning of March.

Older cat died when the kittens she 'midwifed' were a few weeks old, and now we have the mum cat and two kittens, a boy and a girl.
Here they are, the mum is in front.

How many cats do you have?
NightWanderer · 29/10/2016 12:53

I'd stick with 2. I have 3 and it's fine but 2 would be much easier. DD is desperate for a kitten but I think another cat would break me.

NightWanderer · 29/10/2016 12:54

Lovely pic! Two of mine are black and white. They're such lovely cats.

kimlo · 29/10/2016 12:56

2, brothers one year old. I wouldn't want anymore than that.

lottieandmia · 29/10/2016 12:57

Coffee - how cute!

I have 8

electricflyzapper · 29/10/2016 13:09

Just upped our number to 3.

We have 2 brothers who are not really great people cats. I did not intend getting a third, but a stray turned up (actually was run over) outside our house - unhurt - and we adopted him after a week unclaimed at the vets. He is about 4 months old and so affectionate.

Only had him 4 days. It's still very early days with the 2 older ones.
