Isn't it amazing how quickly Devons settle in. At her age, the only photos you'll get are when she's asleep, unless you have a fast shutter speed camera.
She will enrich your lives beyond belief. They're little monkeys though. Mine assigned himself the job of knocking everything over, and is still very diligent at 2.7. He takes his job very seriously, Blu-Tak is my friend.

Mad cat ( as she will be known on here) still hasn't got her name..need to hurry up and decide before she goes to vets for her registration appt...You are right RubbishMantra..she is soooo fast...none of the little kitten bit where they can't jump too high/do stairs/sleep all the time....she was off and running within five mins of walking out of her cat carrier...weed and pooed in litter tray within an hour,ate more or less straight away ,had a few hissing sessions with one foster cat ( known as nutter on here) but then was happy to play chase with him...had a standoff with grumpy cat but she knew her place and went into submission position fairly quickly....the dog is another matter- she not happy about him and is making sure he keeps a wide berth so we keeping them totally separate for a few days at least...
She's a lilac tabby tortie with a massive tail.....her noises are Soo cute

We have a kitten similar in looks to her, but she's a mog afaik. She's absolutely mental though! We tend to call her Gingernut though that's not her proper name (the vet thinks she's called something completely diffrent).

Devons do make the cutest noises don't they? I've never heard mine miaow - just croons and "err-ungAH" type noises - oh and chatters his teeth at the birds. And he did a little river-dance of joy the first time he used his litter-box. Still does it now.

Little M's favourite thing is when I imitate the noises he makes; try it with your little Mad Cat.

Looking at the photograph you posted, she'll have a good, curly coat. Mine was practically bald at her age. Now he only has peach fuzz on his neck, inside legs and tummy, which go pink when he's excited/been running about. The rest is all lamby curly, and he has a tail that looks like he swapped with a Persian :D

Her noises are hysterical RubbishMantra espically when she eats...she is totally living up to her Diva Devon nature- gives off if picked up and has just had a right strop because I tried to clean her eyes-she had a right moan and told me off then sat and scowled at me for a few mins then came over and climbed on my shoulder as if to say I forgive you now..I didn't have the heart to have another attempt- am waiting until I have another pair of hands to help me...will need to do her ears too..she is eating loads/pooing loads and is extremely active..
She is only about the size of my hand from feet to shoulder but she's already been climbing untop of the curtain poles...

I don't want to hijack your kitten thread, but we were chosen by our Devon boy this weekend and I'm desperate to show photos to people who 'get' Devons. I've had some mean comments from people who don't know the breed

I'll start my own thread in 8 weeks when he comes home!

I like Amber- will have to see if it passes the teen test.. Oh and yes please to photos- tell us all about him!!!!! Please hijack away!... Going to be a long eight weeks for you..
I know what you mean about people 'not getting' Devons... Some of the kids friends are 'yuck what a horrible looking cat'... Others think it's the cutest thing ever.. Will be interesting to see the vets reaction when she goes for her reg visit this week because vet hasn't had anything to do with Devons before ( I asked her) and she currently looks like a wee scrap with very long legs and a massive head...
There has been massive progress with one of the existing cats today- all hissing has now stopped and they playing chasing games up and down stairs together..the other cat is ignoring and hiding but she normally does that anyway
The dog is another matter- he's completely chilled but she doesn't like him- I just keep him on lead when they together so I can get them apart quick if needed...they had a snooze either side of my legs earlier so hopefully she will learn to like him soon...

He's a Tuxedo boy. 8 weeks does feel forever away as we met his mum whilst she was still pregnant with him! So it's been ages!

My aunt had Devons and Sphynx whilst I was growing up and I've always wanted one.

What you said about your girl integrating pretty quickly is encouraging- we already have an 11 year old moggie and two dogs and we're hoping it'll be smooth.

Oh he's lovely Yoghurty! I love Sphynx too but Sooo expensive and I did some research and found out that Devons are happiest in multi animal homes and as I foster I figured that would work! So far it has been plain sailing with the other cats- bit of hissing,bit of grumpiness esp from grumpy cat but she hates anyone coming into house so I knew she would be like that and so far my cunning plan of the Devon and the nutter cat pairing up to play so giving her peace is working..just need to get the dog/kitten situ sorted- dog accepts anyone,she just not there with him yet....but it's only been a couple of days so we way ahead of schedule... Lady I got mine from said not to do the whole kitten in one room/quiet/let her come to you usual stuff...she told me to bring her straight into family life and insist on her allowing cuddles etc right from the start and I have to say it has worked- she demands cuddles/attention from everyone..she's super confident and it's a real pleasure because we are used to foster/rescues - which I love doing but it's hard work and it's nice just to have a kitten who loves us back straight away

That's really interesting about immediate introductions, Potential. I'm concerned about my moggie taking against him and I wanted to do things 'properly'. She was very interested in the kitten smell when we got home and licked my hands, which she very rarely does, so I'm hoping that's a good sign!
