Thanks Autumn and Potential Smile

That's really interesting about immediate introductions, Potential. I'm concerned about my moggie taking against him and I wanted to do things 'properly'. She was very interested in the kitten smell when we got home and licked my hands, which she very rarely does, so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

I'm looking forward to your girl telling you her name, and to follow how things settle down in your house Smile

Me too- never had this much trouble choosing a name before...
I like quirky names Navy...and she's quirky so would suit her...kids have been calling her a name all day but I'm still not happy with it

Can you do blanket swopping Yoghurty? Or is he too far away...I sent a blanket to my girls home with my pets scent on it then she brought it home with her with her siblings scent on it

My breeder told me the same thing Potential, about skipping the keeping in one room thing. Little M just bounced out of his carrier and started playing.

He got a few biffs, growls and hisses off MCat, but he'd just riverdance away, and try to make friends a few hours later. It paid off eventually, now he goes to MCat for head washes.

Your's is gorgeous too Yoghurty. I do Little M's ears once a week with a Refresh'r or water only wet wipes. Those big bat ears do get waxy. He actually seems to quite enjoy it!

8 weeks, bet you're counting down the days. I picked my Little M when he was a week old, from some photos his breeder sent me. I just knew he was "The one", from this picture - he's the one staring straight at the camera, saying "Mantra! adopt me!" Twas a loong 12 weeks wait, I can tell you.

He still does an excellent riverdance. Grin

Lady Marmalade, she looks as if she needs a title Wink

cozietoesie · 12/09/2016 21:34

Just 'Lady' would work for me. Smile

Yoghurty · 12/09/2016 21:36

Potential- he's about a 30 minute drive away, so not that far. We're going back to see him after he's had his first vaccination so I plan to take a towel/blanket then.

I'll ask the breeder then what she suggests about intros- i'm changing my mind about our approach now that Rubbish says the same thing too!

Autumnchill · 12/09/2016 21:38

Lady would be good as in My Fair Lady and 'Rex' Harrison although I would call it Higgins but it's too male sounding Smile

Soo name has been decided but going to just use Mad cat on here so I don't have to go name change..she had her vet kitten check today..all of the nurses and all of the vets came to meet her- she was quite the little rockstar... Even more progress on the cat front today- mad cat and nutter cat are now happily playing games together, grumpy cat is coming over for a sniff and a whinge but is no longer hiding away and the dog is happily ignoring her/ mad cat still hissing a bit at him...still being careful and not leave them unsupervised but has been a much easier integration than I expected...

I had forgotten how much little kittens poop!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 13/09/2016 22:45

Well they eat a lot! Grin

Potentialmadcatlady · 13/09/2016 23:08

True Cozietosie...she would eat all day if you let her- very typical of Devons and she will literally climb unto our plates when we eating which I'm being very strict on ( very hard to do because she's soooo cute) because she needs to learn her manners now..the other two will sit waiting as will the dog but she's not learnt that yet!

They're not really like cats, Yoghurty,

ddDH and I were convinced our's is a sort of alien cat. Steven Spielberg based ET on his childhood pet Devon.

And they dance! (Riverdancing being the dance of choice)

Potentialmadcatlady · 13/09/2016 23:16

Alien cat is so true...as is Diva Devon...and the noises and complaining are hysterical...i have told the kids to have full conversations with her but then we do that anyway with one of the rescues who 'talks' a lot in the evening...the dancing and the random monkey jumps on all four feet straight up in the air really make me smile...which is so good for me after a very difficult sad few months...I was worried I wouldn't bond with her because of what's going on in my life and I know I'm still holding back but she is quickly worming her way into my heart...she is doing the kids good too

OP posts:
RubbishMantra · 14/09/2016 00:30

That's lovely. Smile

As for her worming her way into your heart - they don't bother with such niceties. They barge. Grin

I'm sorry you've had a sad time recently. Please PM me if you'd like.

Potentialmadcatlady · 14/09/2016 18:36

Aw Thankyou RubbishMantra... It's very much appreciated.. Today has been a good day Madcat wise...she just acts as if she has always been here..the other cats have fully accepted her- they not at the cuddling up stage but one follows her around as if to check she's behaving and the other one is happy for her to be in same room as her...she isn't hissing as much at the dog and the dog is leaving her alone...
Was hysterically funny earlier on..I went to put her in her crate when I did school run ( don't leave her out in house on her own yet because she is so tiny compared to dog) and she had a full on 'don't you dare bloody put me in there' hissy fit...she more of less stamped her tiny feet ....she was fine once she went in just not fine when she knew she was going in! It's a massive crate with bed, litter, food, water and toys that we keep out all the time
