After picking up Obie today and thinking 'Christ!' I popped him on the scales....

He's now 23 pounds of self satisfied ginger badass . He'll be 2 in June and he's definitely still growing! He looks like a nightclub bouncer with fur :D

Just thought I'd better let you know....he still has the potential for 25...

Hah!

For those who might be wondering what this is about, I predicted that Obie would end up at 25 at an early age.

Medusa was still in denial at that stage.

Cozie is like my dh, tells what you don't want to hear but is right with unerring accuracy.

I tried to get a pic... when stretched out he is enormous but he isn't a fan of being picked up so he kept trying to curl up and sulk :D
However here he is (we are decorating..we don't usually look THIS scruffy lol)

Strewth. I know that Maine Coons can run to a big cat but he is huge!

Wow that is a lot of cat! He's like a mini lion.
Our old girl only weighs 3 kilos at the moment so is tiny in comparison.

He is gorgeous! I'd love a Maine Coon one day, they are so beautiful.

We don't have a cat flap.. but our neighbour two doors down does..and it's Obie's second home. They say it is hilarious to watch. Basically he gets his head and front paws through and then scrabbles with his back legs to squeeze his large torso thro..and there is a large thump as his back end arrives :D

It may also be why he is now 23 pounds...he eats there as well!

I have a very similar ginger MC who I think is about 26lb, a cream tabby who is nearer 28, a tiny girl blue and white girl who's only about 7lb...and a silver tortie tabby kitten who weighs about the same as a bag of sugar!

Goodness, Statistically. I wouldn't like to have to fund your vet and groceries bills.

My goodness. BBKitten/Leopard is a solid stone of Siberian and elicits queries about whether he is actually a cat, but that is something else!

I'm currently weaning the buggers on to raw but until we got the midget they were on Royal Canin Maine Coon - 10kg sack about every 5-6 weeks @ £45 so not too bad if you buy in bulk! Raw will be a bit more, I think about £60 a month or so...they're all insured but we're not at the vets much at all - the odd eye infection and that's about it!

They're house cats though so they don't tend to get injured/pick up bugs really and we don't do annual boosters/flea treatment either (which our vet supports)

For scale. ..DH is 6ft...

StillMedusa, Obie might have a fair few more lbs in him yet, both my lads kept growing until at least 3 (my Obie-a-like is 4 in July and I'm not convinced he's done yet, although it's hard to tell if he's getting bigger or just fluffier!)

I LOVE seeing all your Maine Coon photos. They are all just gorgeous! I may have mentioned to DP a while back that I'd really love a Maine Coon. He begged me not to get another cat . Silly fool.
