Bus stop kitten

Honestly? It could only happen to me.

Yesterday, pouring down rain. On my way home from work standing at the bus stop.

Some fella runs to the shelter with a small cardboard box. I looked down.

A Kitten!!!! Soaking wet and petrified.

"why do you have a kitten in a box in the rain?" I ask

"Its my mate's. He just locks it in the bathroom with food and litter tray and doesn't let it out. I couldn't leave it there any longer, so I took it off him. But my wife won't let me keep it." He then says "Do you want it?"

Well with Poppy the Destroyer in my house...no other cats allowed.

He then said he was taking it to RSPCA...so I know they pts, so I took the kitten home. On the bus. In the box.

Luckily, I have contact with a wonderful lady (due to a previous stray) who works alongside a charity (I suspect CHAT) and has links to my vets. I called her, and she told me to take her to the vets where she would collect her and rehome her.

Just awaiting an update. She may have found her a home with a lady who just lost her cat. Kitten now flead and wormed, microchip, jabs and neuter on Friday

Its a really pretty kitten. Hope it finds a good home.

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 20:58

She's got crazy colouring. And a lovely chilled nature, even when Poppy the Destroyer was hissing like a cobra at her in the cat carrier the whole time.

Oh my. She looks just like my Pollycat, who, incidentally was also found in a cardboard box. It's like someone has it in for torties. Three years on she still a nervy girl, attached to us and only us. I hope that lovely girl finds a home soon.

Why does nobody ever give me kittens in the street? Sad

She's lovely, and so are you. Flowers

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:01

Grin Sparkling. That's 3 now that have found me.

I know my cat lady will find her a loving home

That poor kitten, she looks so scared. What a kind man to be concerned about her though. He's lucky it was you and not a cat hater.

Lets hope she finds a home quickly.

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:03

Yes Fluffy he was a nice guy. He even took a picture of her before I left.

Sparkling

I can do you a bengal in a cat carrier. Interested?.

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:04

I put her in the cat carrier with a nice blanket with a heat pad and food and water. She gulped the food and snuggled down and fell to sleep

LBOCS2 · 16/09/2015 21:05

Oh Fluffy I love bengals!

I'm kind of glad no one gives me kittens in boxes. I'd end up with even more cars than the ones I already have and DH would get cross.

LBOCS2 · 16/09/2015 21:06

Cats. Not cars.

RomComPhooey · 16/09/2015 21:07

I am, though nearly all the people I know with Bengals/Bengal crosses have had problems with spraying. Why are parting with yours?

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:08

I think Fluffy was being tongue in cheek as I think her Bengal is a bit of a wild thang

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 16/09/2015 21:12

Sparkling cat she say 'no' Fluffy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2015 21:14

I was joking, he is a bit wild and a bit spray-y too.

It must have been a horrible life for tortie kitten, I wonder if she was going to be a kitten farm?

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:19

He said the guy got her for catching mice and cockroaches. But then just locked her in a bathroom no blanket. Poor thing didn't even have a name

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2015 21:21

Good grief it gets worse. It's a wonder she's not feral with that start in life.

Waitingfordolly · 16/09/2015 21:25

I thought this was going to be another clock bus Canada type thread before I noticed it was posted in The Litter Tray. Hope the story has a happy ending. We're about to get a kitten soon that my friend took in as stray, so I might be back here soon!

RomComPhooey · 16/09/2015 21:32

You can keep your spraying Bengal, Fluffy - he doesn't sound half as appealing now.

hugoagogo · 16/09/2015 21:32

Cute kitty; there is a fine tradition of cats in boxes- my own cat was found outside the co-op in a box- she is glorious! Grin

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 16/09/2015 21:38

Oh she is just beautiful! And looks so scared, bless her Sad But she's very lucky to have found you, even if you can't keep her - I'd be calling her Kismet Grin Well done for looking after her, it makes me so cross that people can treat animals like that.

Keep us updated about her Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 16/09/2015 21:42

Aw poor bus stop kitty Sad. I hope the new home works out so she can get settled quickly.

You could always come and work with me for a bit Sparkling we are always picking up waifs and strays. Our current Big Cat is one that I rescued when she was abandoned. Our new addition is a kitten who needed rehoming when his owner couldn't cope. He is well on his way to be made into a small pair of slippers or a nice muff though Grin. He is known fondly as The Little Fucker.

crazynanna · 16/09/2015 21:47

She's a sweet little thing. Vet says 4 months old but malnourished. I wasn't even going to go that way home. Must have been fate

I will update when I hear

Notmeagain1 · 17/09/2015 14:55

Aww the poor baby. She looks terrified and needs a good cuddle.

I hope your cat lady find the little beauty a wonderful loving home. She certainly deserves it.... However, I think OP is going to have trouble letting her go.

OP have you found her a name?
