I just love that pic on the latest 'MN hates cats' thread with all yours in the kitchen Grin

Honestly the 'omg the germs the germs' bloody hysteria on MN is hilarious sometimes!

47 years old here and haven't died from pussy foot germs either, or cat fur in my sandwiches yet. :)

Lavendar I know you asked TCN and nor me but having had a multi cat/come and go/foster rescue house for a few years, I would let them meet now. Supervise it. Don't be disappointed if old cat hates new cat on sight. It's typical. When I had new ones in I rarely separated them as long as I was in the house. Just a night until an amnesty was called during the day. If they both eat and use their litter trays properly then you can assume neither is too stressed. Good luck.

MagpieCursedTea · 04/08/2015 17:38

I just came here to say I love your kitchen TCN. The cats are pretty adorable too!

LavenderRain · 04/08/2015 17:41

Thanks batman
It's just me being a wuss! I will do the introductions when old boy comes in from the garden

thecatneuterer · 04/08/2015 17:43

Your boy won't run away. I'm sure of that. And I don't disagree with Batman's advice either. There really isn't one right way to do this.

Thanks Magpie. But of course that photo doesn't show the muddy cat footprints and hair all over the place :)

Corygal · 04/08/2015 21:06

StarStarStar TCN the TV star! StarStarStar

I'll be glued, I promise. I bet you'll be brilliant. Hope Celia gets loads of money as well.

Corygal · 04/08/2015 21:07

Can you tell us - loudly - when it goes out so me and Mr C can watch or tape it if I'm not in. Please.

SmokingGun · 04/08/2015 21:31

I count 18 TCN, clearly ice counted 2 cars twice Grin

SmokingGun · 04/08/2015 21:32

Dam autocorrect!

LavenderRain · 04/08/2015 21:40

Well, I put kitten in her cage and old boy had a good sniff through the bars and walked away. Kitty then started mewing for England and old boy sat on the stairs gazing at her.
progress?? Who knows! Confused

nooka · 05/08/2015 01:45

It's our city bylaw TCN, if you are within city limits then only two cats and only two dogs permitted. I think that there are exemptions for fostering or keeping kennels. If your property is over an acre then you can have a horse, goat, chickens etc, and if you are out of town then you can do what you like (most properties out of town will have a fair bit of land).

LavenderRain · 05/08/2015 08:51

Well we had a formal introduction. Old boy had Dreamies first Grin
I let kitty loose she really is bonkers and she came face to face with old boy. They touched noses, kitty's back arched and she ran away!
Old boy just sits and stares at her and thinks who the fuck is this in my house
Kitty now has the run of the house and old boy is just mooching around watching kitty like a hawk,
No hissing has taken place yet
This all seems good so far, yes??

LavenderRain · 05/08/2015 08:52

Sorry meant to post on my other thread!

BeautifulBatman · 05/08/2015 08:58

Sounds great lavender!! I wouldn't worry too much about the odd hiss or swipe either. It's pretty normal and nothing to worry about. The kitten sounds funny Grin

LavenderRain · 05/08/2015 09:06

batman she is sooo funny! she is currently sat on my shoulder trying to swipe my fingers as I type,
This morning she climbed up a dressing gown on the back of my door and was sitting on top of the doorConfused
She mews until you pick her up, I've got to have a shower now so she will be crying all through that no doubt! (It's like having a newborn!)
Old boy has gone in the garden for some peace Grin

LavenderRain · 05/08/2015 09:10

Asleep at last!

Lovely pictures.

fab kitchen TCN! !!!

I worry about human germs far more than animal germs.

A cat on the work top wouldn't bother me. Some disgusting person stood coughing or sniffing or whatever, yuck.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/08/2015 11:05

I once found my husband had been cleaning the bath with the LOO BRUSH.

Humans are way dirtier than cats.

(he doesn't do that anymore)

fenneltea · 06/08/2015 12:24

Love this thread! It is fantastic to see people who genuinely care for cats, the poor things always seem to be so maligned. I can't stand hearing about the feral/strays that are abused and nobody seems to care, whereas if it was a dog everyone is up in arms about it (rightly so). Sad

Fantastic that TCN's charity is getting, some publicity, let's hope it does lots of good!

As for cats on worktops, I actually feed mine up there, otherwise two greedy labradors would scoff the lot!

fenneltea · 06/08/2015 12:28

Lavender - your kitten is the double of my old boy who I lost this spring, he was the most fantastic cat that converted me to becoming a crazy cat lady; I'm quite jealous of your little beauty!

LavenderRain · 06/08/2015 14:21

Aah thanks fenneltea
She is beautiful but I keep getting little guilt pangs thinking old boys nose has been put out of joint Sad
It's a work in progress!

thecatneuterer · 06/08/2015 17:35

Well my dreams of stardom have been cruelly dashed Grin. Celia decided to take my place in the filming so you will only see me fleetingly, if at all, in the segment where I bring a cat in with a missing foot. Still, as fenneltea says, it's all good publicity for CHAT (unless they do some sort of 'Cats on benefits' hatchet job on us:) ).

Oh and it's scheduled to be shown in September, but I don't know the date yet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/08/2015 17:39

Well, you do have a lot of unmarried mothers on your hands. Do any of them also smoke and have mobile phones?

thecatneuterer · 06/08/2015 17:46

Haha Fluffy. Yes the place is indeed full of young single mothers and their delinquent offspring ...

Corygal · 06/08/2015 19:03

Bah, TCN. Bloody supermodel hogging the limelight as usual Grin

wannaBe · 06/08/2015 19:14

I must confess that I keep looking at the celia Hammond website and hovering over the form to register my interest....

Lost my 17 year old rescued as a kitten cat in May and desperately want another kitten/s.

And every time I read about all the unwanted cats I think mmm I could give a home to a couple of those... and then my head, and dp tell me it would be a bad idea.... Grin
