Does anyone else have a cat that smells really nice?

I was just thinking about my old girl (R.I.P.) - and she always smelled GREAT - so good that other people who got up close to her also commented on occasion! I loved nothing more than to bury my nose in her fur and have a good sniff.

We've not had this with the other cats - a couple of them are a bit whiffy and fishy smelling, and the others just don't really smell of anything at all.

I was just wondering if anyone else has a pleasantly fragrant cat!

Our cat didn't use to smell great because he spent 90% of his time out hunting and killing a menagerie of creatures. As he's got older he's started to spend more of his time inside and I've got to say he smells great now. Can't quite put my finger on it, it's like a musty but slightly floral smell. Will be sad when he's gone!

scribblescrabble · 20/02/2015 18:52

..... wistfully dreams of firm hard kitty stools!!

PumpkinsMummy · 21/02/2015 12:08

Yep. my lovely ginger boy always smelled of cinnamon. Was lovely as he would let me cuddle and sniff him when I was sad. Or pretty much any time he walked past me!

HellonHeels · 28/02/2015 08:49

Yes my lovely Boo Boo smells gorgeous. I give him a cuddle and sniff the top of his head and he purrs Smile

MadeinSouthWest · 28/02/2015 08:54

Yes, especially around the ears!

Thumbcat · 28/02/2015 09:02

So this is where all the cat sniffers hang out! I love the smell of my cat when she's just come in and her fur is cold and smells all fresh and outdoorsy. She often smells of bonfires. DH thinks I'm insane when I offer him an inhalation of fresh cat.

ErinBlockerBitch · 28/02/2015 09:04

Yes digestive biscuitives, hedges and rain.

I would buy a scent that had those properties.

lbab1702 · 01/03/2015 07:06

My ginger boy smells like a teddy bear and loves a good cuddle and lets me stick my nose right in and take huge sniffs of him, while he purrs away. Such a comforting chap. Black and white kitty is not quite so snugly or sweet smelling and doesn't appreciate my nose buried into his tum anyway.

I just sniffed the new kittens - they both smell of tuna flavoured kitten food at the moment, with a nice undertone of fresh kitten smell underneath - there's hope for them yet! (And I've now told them they're meant to eat it not bathe in it, so that's hopefully cleared up any confusion!)

Vanilla biscuits still warm from the oven. And loves my face on her tum, rolls over for a snuffle.

We call it noo-gie-ing!

One of my cats smells loooooovely and he doesn't clean himself obsessively or anything like that. I always wonder how/why he smells so good! On the other hand my other cat is a bit more smelly, although cleans himself a similar amount and we have to bath him every week (he actually enjoys this!) or he would be putting people off visiting us! They're both indoor cats so no idea where the difference comes from!

Hi, I will be starting midwifery in September- yay!!

I have two university interviews coming up soon and I was wondering if you can think of any unique midwifery interview questions?

I've researched and I've seen the basic questions, however I'd like to be prepared for the most interesting questions.

Thanks x

My old girl smells gorgeous! One of favourite things is burrowing my face in her fur.

There are two recent exceptions recently. Both due to illnesses and age.

Her breath now sometimes smells bad due to old age, illnesses and wet food as she can't have a full dry food diet. Her teeth are fine though.

Her back end sometimes smells because she sometimes can't get round to sort herself or because it gets stuck both of which I obviously help her with.

anaabananaa you need to start your own thread

My old boy smelled amazing. Loved to sniff his paws. Have a good face in tummy sniff. When he farted the dc said it smelled like pumpkins.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/02/2019 08:59

My friends cats smell lovely. Mine don't smell of anything.

Mia184 · 01/02/2019 09:54

My pocket panther smells gorgeous too. She even lets me smell her belly!

I also occasionally sniff her mouth - not because I enjoy it but rather to check for any problems with her teeth (it smells vile). Before I got her from the shelter, she had to undergo extensive dental surgery and is prone to plaque.

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 13:36

Cat smells nice but he has cat-breath after eating and his poo stinks.

Oldraver · 01/02/2019 15:19

Oh I love sniffing Ern

Last night I came home from work snuggled him and buried my nose in his tummy and breathed in his fur.

I did ask OH if he like to sniff Ern but I got that look

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/02/2019 19:17

I love sniffing Harry and I also get 'that look' if I suggest DH might like to!

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2019 20:21

My cat smells like a fur coat.

MBVlinden · 25/02/2021 05:37

My boy cat is 13 and still looks and smells like a kitten. Even friends have commented “he smells so good... he smells like a baby!” And yes, it makes me adore him probably way more than a normal pet owner would. I’ve always wondered why he smells so yummy!

BronnauMawrion · 26/02/2021 20:44

This fluffy belly smells faintly of shortbread.

Does anyone else have a cat that smells really nice?

My first cat smelled like fresh ironing. BastardCat smells like ‘Eau Savage’ - heavy on the ‘Savage’.
