My kittens (brother and sister) are getting neutered tomorrow. I know in theory they'll be fine, but feeling a bit nervous for them :/ Please tell me they WILL be fine!

Every GA carries a slight risk but there are thousands of these ops undertaken every day. They'll be fine. Smile How old are they?

DramaAlpaca · 21/01/2015 22:39

They'll be fine. They might be a bit wobbly when they get home, her more than him as it's obviously a bigger operation for a female, but they recover amazingly quickly.

NameChange30 · 21/01/2015 22:45

Thanks both! Forgot to mention they're 5 months old. So they still seem like babies even though they're acting more like teenagers! Wink

Took this photo a few weeks ago and they've grown since!

Adorable pair. Smile

DramaAlpaca · 21/01/2015 22:54

Oh they are gorgeous! Different colours but matching ears Smile. I'm guessing the black one is female & the ginger one is male?

cozietoesie · 21/01/2015 22:56

From the look of that boy, I don't think the neutering is a day too soon, either!

gamerchick · 21/01/2015 22:58

It needs doing man. Mine was booked in but had her first season before the appointment. What a bloody racket.. who knew such noise could come from such a small animal.

NameChange30 · 21/01/2015 23:01

Exactly right Drama! And yes cozie he will definitely be a bit lighter after the op... Not that I look too closely but they're hard to miss!!

It's not the pom-poms I was thinking of but the look in his eyes - and the biceps !

NameChange30 · 21/01/2015 23:26

LOL at pom-poms!! Yes I know what you mean, he's definitely looking more adult lately! Growing into those ears :)

Gorgeous cats. Sure they will be OK, lots of TLC and dreamies. All the best.

awaywego1 · 22/01/2015 09:04

Aww my little love is going in tomorrow too and I'm worried but know it needs doing. Fingers crossed they all have a speedy recovery and settle down a bit

NameChange30 · 22/01/2015 12:05

We just heard from the vet and they're fine Grin Ops went well and they're sleepy but awake. DH is going to collect them in an hour or so.

That's good. Smile

Is there to be someone home this afternoon to supervise the Terrible Twosome?

awaywego1 · 22/01/2015 13:35

Yay! glad the op went well..they'll be glad to get home :) Shes a girl and very keen for a boyfriend at the moment so she's ready for the op!

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2015 13:38

Glad it went well.

babygiraffe86 · 22/01/2015 13:43

ah dont worry, our 2 were actually quite funny and groggy when they came back, walked into skirting boards and doors. just try make sure they dont jump around for the day and have bland food - i boiled a couple of chicken breasts as the meat and biscuits are too flavoured and can make them sick after the anaesthetic :)

NameChange30 · 22/01/2015 18:46

cozie Yes, luckily DH works from home so they had company! He tells me they've been a bit mad this afternoon - we can't stop them jumping up sadly :/ Poor Mamba has a big bald patch now! away hope your girl gets on ok, she'll be fine Smile

Aw bless them, glad they're fine.

My little lad went loony and ran amok when I brought him home after his 'procedure'.

awaywego1 · 23/01/2015 08:41

She's gone in..scared..hope she's ok Sad

cozietoesie · 23/01/2015 09:51

She should be fine. Smile Are they to phone you when the op is over?

(I should mention, by the way, that 'pom-poms' is issey's phrase which some of us have just adopted. Maybe it's a Yorkshire thing. Grin)

awaywego1 · 23/01/2015 11:54

I need to ring at 1pm to see how she's recovering. Sure she'll be fine..it's just when they said the 'General anaesthetic carries a risk' speech I wanted to whisk her back home to a world full of dreamies and cuddles Grin
Love the term pom poms Grin
