Does your cat like to sit on paper?

Our cat likes to sit on paper. It's most fun when we're trying to use said piece of paper but she'll also sit on a random piece of paper and I can keep her where I want her by putting a piece of paper down for her.

Is this normal? I assume it is so why do cats do this?

Shy Girl loves nothing better than to sit on my mark book when I'm doing my marking. I have to squidge her paws out of the way so that I can log marks.

But my jute school bag is the Best Thing Ever for a snooze.

Paper yes. But only after she's jumped on my chair seconds before my bum hits it. She then clings on with all her might as I try and shove her off before conceding the position and jumping on my paperwork, complete with muddy paws. Once she is prised off that, her final tactic is to keep a close eye on my pen and as soon as I start writing something crucial attacking it.

my first cat used to love the Safeway brown paper shopping bags...I'd throw them on the floor and he'd pelt across the room and run round the house with them as his back legs were still outside the bag

and then he'd be furious once he'd ripped a hole in it and his wee goblin face would stick out. :o

Yep, he's asleep on a paper bag right now. I haven't the heart to explain to him about recycling.

Actually he was asleep on it till about thirty seconds ago when I tried the circle thing with a tape measure. He is attacking it.

One of ours likes sitting on paper, or even better one of the dc's book bags. The other one loves anything technological. He has to rub his chin on my phone whenever possible and he likes to walk across the computer keyboard but only when someone is trying to work on it.

Pens too - the paper lover also loves pens. She will get them out with her paw from under the sofa, she will make them move with her paw and then pick them up and drop them onto paper. My dc are in the stage of going through reems of paper with pictures and bits of writing and I think she thinks 'how hard can it be'.

Let me share billy and Mac cats sleeping position this week. Mac, at the back, has just spent ten minutes staring at billy trying to hypnotise him into getting into position.

yep, StripedCat has an amazon box full of paper packing material that she sleeps in!
