Ooh I love this thread. Particularly pleased to see SeniorBoy from Cozie as I've always wondered what he looks like! Here are mine (which I've most likely posted already!) ginger boy is Scabbers, white boy is JonSnow and tortie girl is Millie who was sadly killed a month or so ago on the road. Love my little babies!

What colour point is he Cozie? He looks massive (and very handsome)

A chocolate point, Fluffy. He's not so massive, just very elegant - although an experienced eye would tell that he's an old cat.

Jonsnow - Milly looked just like my tortie girl. So sorry to hear she died on the road, we lost our tortie's brother on the road, it was so shocking and we were all devastated.

I posted on another thread about this. How can we keep them safe? We are keeping our cats in at night now and I am letting them out just before the school run and keeping them in from late afternoon onwards to try and avoid the traffic. Can't bear to keep them indoors as they love outdoors so much

NameChange, it's horrible isn't it? For me, if a cat is desperate to go out, you have to let them. Millie wouldn't have been happy as an indoor cat - she THRIVED on the outdoors and hunting. I've always kept my cats in at night, however, and they've got into the routine of coming home for tea and being locked in. JonSnow, the newbie, doesn't seem fussed about going out, which suits me!!
It sounds like you're doing the right thing with allowing limited outside times. Ultimately, though, you can't control what they get up too side can you? Poor Millie just wasn't wary enough of the road.
My view is that she only lived a short life (2 years) but she was happy, loved and free - so had a good life.

Jonssnow - I remember you posting about Millie. She looks a lot like my Tilly (pics posted on Tues). Confusingly my black and white one is called Millie. I wish their former owner had made them both end in either "y" or "ie" - I find it very confusing.

We keep ours in at night, but they often slip out if we open the back door for any reason in the evening. We are really strict about never letting them out the front door, which has open access to a main road about 50m away, they are only allowed out the back where there are several hedges and fences to get past to the road. When they wore collars I always got reflective ones, but we've decided to stop those. I particularly worry about Tilly because she's dark, Millie being b&w is more visible at night.

Granville, who is a female. She will be 18 this year.

I do love seeing all these well cared for cats. The only cats I see are;

1. my own
2. about to beaten up by my cat
3. running away from my cat
4. animal abuse cases in the papers.

They all look so content.
