OMG!! This proves that, yes, cats really are The Best Thing Ever Grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 15/05/2014 01:15

Saw this earlier. It's awesome! Why a brilliant cat. But also- how scary the way that attack happened. No provocation at all (you know how usually something cause the dog to react) and it just went for the boy who was completely unaware of its presence. Awful. But yes- well done herocat!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 15/05/2014 01:16

what a brilliant cat.

AmberLeaf · 15/05/2014 02:06

Amazing! This brought tears to my eyes. We need to show this to all those who incorrectly believe cats don't give a hoot about their humans Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 15/05/2014 08:21

The cat is amazing.

I don't understand why the mum goes to the boy and then leaves him though. Hmm. I'd have been picking him up and taking him inside.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 15/05/2014 08:25

What an amazing cat! Grin

I assumed the mother was going after the dog?

VivaLeBeaver · 15/05/2014 08:31

Maybe. But as the dog had already run off it wouldn't cross my mind to leave a scared, bleeding small child on the floor. But I guess people do strange things when in shock.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 15/05/2014 08:44

True, I've just read the rest of the article and seen how bad the boy's injuries were Sad

Goblinchild · 15/05/2014 08:57

Apparently the dog didn't like scooters. Or small children according to the owner.
Who then let it roam around expressing its dislike.

I do, she is chasing the dog. She has a quick check to see he is OK(ish) then goes for the dog to stop it coming back or attacking the cat.

Yes i assumed either she was making sure dog wasnt coming back round other side of car or that she was shouting for help, possible someone in the next garden or her partner round the side and she knew they were there.

I know on my first aid course they taught that when you arrive on an emergency the first thing you do is shout "help help" even if you can see anyone around.

MandarinCheesecake · 15/05/2014 11:03

Wow that is one awesome cat!
Even after he'd chased off the dog he came straight back to where the boy was to check on him.

Corygal · 15/05/2014 11:08

Supercat lives! One in the eye for those idiots who think cats aren't bovvered about their servants, eh.

Mind you, I secretly think Mr Cory the fat tabby is a daily superhero as he is my cat, as all cat owners should.

teenagetantrums · 15/05/2014 11:11

one of my cats attacks me whenever I tread on his brother, which is often as his brother is an idiot and is always tripping me up, he also bit me once when I accidentaly tripped my daughter up and she screamed, he came flying out from nowhere and bit my leg, better than a guard dog..lol

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/05/2014 12:03

That's one brave little cat. Bought tears to my eyes watching that.

AmberLeaf · 15/05/2014 12:06

Apparently, the Mum chased the dog off, but was also trying to attract its owner who was standing on his drive/front yard.

The Mum was also bitten while doing that.

I love the way the cat goes back to 'check' on the little boy after chasing the dog away, gave me goosebumps.

Fenton · 15/05/2014 12:12

Ah, Unagi! The dog doesn't have it, the cat knew it and like a little ninja came from nowhere and knocked that dog for six didn't he?

Wow.

Lucky lad.

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/05/2014 12:13

I saw this earlier. Does anyone know who was filming and why they were filming rather than helping?

Or was it CCTV footage edited together?

Brave cat!! Plus I expect mum was in shock so please bare that in mins when judging te reaction.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/05/2014 12:16

It was home CCTV footage.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 15/05/2014 12:28

A bit of an interview with the family here. Tara the cat will have grilled fish for her tea every day for the rest of her life :)
