What's the most expensive thing your cat has damaged?

Mines damaged a walnut bed side cabinet. £300 8 years ago so not cheap, lovely big scratch you get a finger nail into.

He got stuck between it and the bed, upside down, and freaked out even more when dh rescued him.

We love him really Grin

Leather sofa. She ignored it for a while so we thought it was safe. Then she discovered it and hasn't really left it alone since. Mind you, I'd rather have pets around than a perfect home.

Sofa but only worth about £500 so not to bad.

Rabbits dug their way into next doors garden though did only take a bag of cement to fix

DP's nose (incident now referred to as 'Nosegate') by dearly departed ginger Tom whilst clambering over him to get out of bed. There was a lot of blood and new sweary words made that night at 3am Grin

It wasn't expensive, it was bloody priceless!

When I move into a new house I will need a new sofa but this one cost £10 so no biggie I suppose.

My dads cat likes to eat the sealant from double glazing. In fact, anything remotely glue-like.

We have a free-range unclipped rescue parrot. He ate my Macbook pro. And the Wii sensor bar. And several phones (one he actually took out of the box), many many pairs of headphones, every pen which has ever been left unattended (last week I came home to parroty paw prints in blue all over DDs desk and a blue-beaked parrot), all of the TV remotes, any button he finds on a shirt (ironing piles or washing hung up), DD's phone cases. Actually it's probably easier to list what he hasn't eaten.

We provide a big bowl of beads for him to work his way through but he's very quick and stealthy. Last night I caught him shimmying SAS stylie down the bookcase to get his beak around a photo frame.

oooo I love the sound of your parrot arfishy Very entertaining Grin

Any pics?

arfishy · 20/11/2013 23:34

I think there are some on my profile, which I've just checked for the first time in about 5 years. DD is 11 next month and Harry is older and more cunning. And fatter now I think about it, which is probably something to do with his croissant stealing tendencies.

HellonHeels · 21/11/2013 16:29

Aww they are lovely pics!

The parrot is a stunner!

DottyboutDots · 21/11/2013 16:33

Sofa and 6 dining room chairs.

ditsygal · 21/11/2013 16:36

His own leg - more then £2000 to have metal put in it. The same cat also took to weeing on carpets so we have replaced them all with wood floors. He is one expensive moggy!

HesterShaw · 21/11/2013 19:26

My dad was writing a thesis and had borrowed a very limited edition textbook from the Institute of Materials, which was worth about £400. The cat strolled into the study from outside where he had been digging and wandering around in muddy puddles and so on, made straight for the open book, jumped up and sat on its pristine pages. He scratched a few as well. There is no way he would have done this had the book not been so valuable. We sponged them down and made it all much worse, and the book was given back without owning up Blush

The only thing ours did was to shit in one of our frying pans when he was a kitten about 12 years ago.

The pan is still going strong though.

Chocberry · 22/11/2013 23:20

All four leather dining chairs. Funnily enough she hasn't touched the leather sofa!

Oodyouthinkyouare · 26/11/2013 00:00

Erm just a corner of carpet on the bottom stair
