Pregnant Cat , Advice needed

Me again Smile
I worked out the dates for my cat & she was due yesterday & yet their is still no sign of labour or Nesting at all .
She is still waddling about , eating & drinking .
Should I take her to the vets , I don't want to stress her out though .
Should she be nesting at all ?

Sorry I sound useless , I just haven't done this before & didn't even know she was pregnant until I took her to be neutered Sad

There's quite a substantial range in apparent gestation periods, partly because of cats' 'induced ovulation'. What numbers/dates did you use?

And how the heck did you know all the occasions when she was doing the deed????

Is she showing any of the other signs of imminent labour?

Do you know how many day pregnant she is?

What day is she on, they can go to day 69-70.

Sorry should have made that clearer.

I had girls go from day 64-69, different cats went on different days. If she seem to be pushing or struggling then take her to the vet, if she waddling around eating and sleeping and grooming herself she is fine.

Do you have a birthing box set up for her?

I only know the date as she managed to get out one day which was the 23rd of March

I have a birthing box but she isn't in the slightest bit interested .
Should I be worried that she is not nesting ?

She could have 2 or 3 days to go yet anyway. It sounds from what you say as if she's quite relaxed at the moment? (unlike you!) Have you checked for the other signs ?

We had this with toddles cat last year, the vet was all c-section this and complications that. Toddles cat pushed them out just fine.

Not sure it did toddle too much good though. She was pg too.

PS - eg is she producing any milk yet, or being extra cuddly and affectionate? Those sorts of things.

Nope she still detests me & not been extra cuddly with Dp (she is very much a man's cat Envy )

What other signs could I look for ?

Larger teats and then milk being produced, nesting, odd behaviour (including wanting to be more private), licking her genitalia, restlessness - several sort of signs. (Her temperature will also go down beforehand but I'm guessing you won't want t be measuring that.)

It could be a few days off yet.

I can't remember clearly but - this is her first litter and she's quite young?

she is 12/13 months maybe older as she was abandoned & yeah its her first litter

12/13 months is better than some of the youngsters that get pregnant when they are really small - 5 or 6 months some of them. She's a better size - and I guess pretty healthy?

Yeah she is healthy though because she is a Maine Coon cross she is still rather small unfortunately though she doesn't let it stop her as she is still very energetic .
Her belly seems to get wider everyday , that's disgusting letting cats so young get pregnant Sad

I'd relax just a little, Crazy. She could have a few days to go so just keep a weather eye on her and make sure she knows about her box etc.

Good luck to you all - and tell DP to do some of the stress sharing as well!

Any serious problems, come back - there's usually someone around - or to the vet. She'll likely manage fine herself though.

Dp just thinks I'm over reacting but I think he is worried as well just not showing it , Anywho thanks for all the advice & calming me down a bit

You have to worry Grin It's part of having kittens, I have 4 breeding books and everytime a cat was pregnant would take the books to bed with me every night and read all all about what stage we she was at.

When she goes into labour her tummy will tighten, often my girls used to stretch their back leg, as if trying to remove the pains/tightening. One girl was very vocal and didn't like me leaving her, another purred and padded me all the was through it and another liked to be left alone to do her thing.

Maybe she's on the build up then.

I should warn you that birthing box or no birthing box, she'll likely decide where she wants to give birth. Just be flexible!

Yeah that much I do know , her favourite spot is behind the couch so I'm half expecting her to go there.
What should I do if she doesn't go in the birthing box ? Thanks
