This morning she was coughing and has also had a sloppy bowel accident outside. She wasn't interested in breakfast even though I didn't come down until after 9 and she wasn't about when DH left at 7. He normally feeds her before he goes. I had to put the plate under her nose to get her to come and ear.

Her back legs are a bit wobbly and I will take her for a jab on Monday to hopefully get some relief. She didn't wee over night so that is postiive but when I was comforting her when she was coughing it really hit me that she is very old and isn't my baby anymore Sad.

She has lasted for DD's birthday but I am not sure she will make her own Sad.

I have just put a towel on the sofa for her to sit on, just in case, but she wasn't impressed and has jumped down on to the floor.

My cat is getting to the end of her life and I am not sure I will ever get over it Blush.

She means the world to me, is the only thing in the world that is 100% mine, and I will miss her so much.

Another of her toys and one of my teatowels has just gone in the bin. The toy happened to be where she wees in the utility room. She had just had her tea and then went for a pee. We haven't even got any snow so no idea why she didn't go outside. It was nearer Confused. Poor DD is getting so upset as she sees us getting fed up and no amount of me telling her we won't have FC put to sleep because of it helps her.

Have you actually tried those mats, Just? (I can't remember where the ones the poster recommended came from but I guess that they're the same as puppy training mats which are easily obtained, I think.)

Those might ease DD's mind if she can think that there's some sort of practical progress being made.

cozietoesie · 13/01/2013 16:30

Here's one for example.

I had forgotten all about the mats as I have a terrible memory but also she had stopped weeing there but I have put them on my shopping list now. I don't want to encourage her to wee indoors but if she is going to do it anyway, and can't manage a litter tray, then they might be a good compromise. Thank you.

Worth a try, maybe. Good luck.

JustFabulous · 14/01/2013 21:10

I've been keeping the lounge and dining room doors shut if we aren't in the rooms to keep FABCat out so today when I was cooking in the kitchen she had to find somewhere else to go. Turns out she can get up on my bed if she really wants too. Fast asleep on top of DS1's clean pyjamas HmmGrin.

cozietoesie · 14/01/2013 21:49

Of course she can get up there if she really wants to - I told you, you're being played like a violin there!

Grin
Horsemad · 14/01/2013 22:28

Ha ha Just - she's got you wrapped around her little paw Grin

JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 07:49

So when she was climbing up and slipping off things and giving up and going downstairs she was being a madam Shock.

I feel sorry for her today as we have a fair bit of snow when you are only a few inches off the ground tall.

I'm thinking that in order to know about all the above events you must have been there? Which she would have known about? QED.

Seriously, I'm amazed she's thinking of going out. No weather for an old girl out there.

Smile
JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 10:29

Yep, I was there.....

I felt sorry for her when she gave up and headed for downstairs so I would pick her up and put her on the bed..

No paw marks outisde yet.

cozietoesie · 15/01/2013 11:14

She's very sensible. I wouldn't go out in the snow with bare feet!

JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 12:25

She is currently asleep on my duvet so I can't make the bed at the moment.

I have been thinking about getting her some little boots.

Ooo, I wonder if anyone in the UK does those Grin.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 15/01/2013 13:21

Sadly, yes.

You may, however, wish to wait until spring/summer and buy her the cat sports shoes.

(I kid you not.)

Hmm

Hmm
JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 13:32

Those are not very nice shoes at all. I think I will keep her in. She'd be a laughing stock if she wore those out!

Horsemad · 15/01/2013 16:37

Grin Can only see pic of sports shoes but that's enough!!

cozietoesie · 15/01/2013 16:47

Don't be so disparaging you two - especially after I spared you the cat clothing !

Ha ha ha!!! The model looks most unimpressed, bless him! Grin

JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 17:34

I showed DD and DS2. DD said that's so cruel. DS2 said that's so mean. FC is asleep so has said nothing.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 15/01/2013 17:38

Defies belief, doesn't it? And what the poor pooches have to put up with is even worse.

JustFabulous · 15/01/2013 19:47

FABCat really didn't want to go away this afternoon so I said she could stay in the kitchen but she must not wee. I went off to school and came back 2 minutes later as I had forgotten my glasses. FC was miaowing at me to feed her ConfusedGrin. I told her it wasn't time yet and I wouldn't be long. DS1 got home first and let her freeeeeeeeee so that when we got home she was waiting by the front door. I went into the kitchen and it transpires that FC had taken one of the kids colourings off the wall and ripped it up Shock. All because I didn't let her have the run of the house??

Earlier I put a piece of paper on the floor and she immediately started ripping it so I don't think she does it because she is in pain.

She is now sleeping off all her exersions.
