He is 9 weeks old and nameless, I just brought him home 20 mins ago.

He is a seal-point.

What would you call him?

I've always wanted a rag doll Envy

What about Ralph? I rally wanted to call our 4 month old kitten than, was vetoed by the kids, he is now called Joe.

notnowImreading · 16/06/2012 20:23

Martin.

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 20:35

I have just been told 'no human names' by DH grrr.

The kitten is not shy at all, Making himself right at home.

I'm so happy, Have wanted a ragdoll for years.

Envy

I have been told by DH to stop googling ragdoll cats while our cats are still alive as it might make them insecure. Hmm

I can only suggest human names, so I can't help, sorry. Fluffy? [lame]

LikeItOrNot · 16/06/2012 20:39

Truffle?

Bubbles?

Erm...Bailey?

I have chocolate on my mind.

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 20:42

All vetoed I'm afraid.

He is thinking Tyrrian, Apparently it's from Game of thrones??

Our tabby was called Martin! He was a lovely, lovely cat.

What kind of a name are you looking for? Like a typical cat name? A literary name? I know people who've named their cats after movie/cartoon characters, drinks, instruments, sports people...

You could look at the cats names from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, which I think are from a Rudyard Kipling book.

LikeItOrNot · 16/06/2012 20:46

Athelstan?

Mufasa ?

Stannis (Stan for short?)

Ned?

Somersaults · 16/06/2012 20:52

I like Maruman from the Obernewtyn books. He is a funny, wise old cat.

I also love Mylo from nowhere in particular and DDs favourite soft toy is called Arlo which I think is a cool name for a cat.

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 20:56

Arlo is nice.

DH is getting final say on name, I name the girls and he names the boys.

I think he fancies a mystical sounding name.

NoVegBeforeHerMej · 16/06/2012 20:58

Captain.

Our next cat is being called Pirate Captain Toby. Hmm (DS' choice!)

NoVegBeforeHerMej · 16/06/2012 20:59

Oops Xpost!
Mine not at all mystical!

NoVegBeforeHerMej · 16/06/2012 21:01

Bilbo?

bigbadbarry · 16/06/2012 21:01

Tyrion is a great kitty name :)

Narketta · 16/06/2012 21:02

Loki or Artemis?

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 21:03

I just knew I would have spelt that wrong :)

I haven't read/watched GOT, Is Tyrion a goodie or a baddie?

OP posts:
Somersaults · 16/06/2012 21:06

Loki is good. I think of Artemis as a girl's name.

Lyra's daemon in the Philip Pullman books was Pantalaimon, or Pan for short.

Narketta · 16/06/2012 21:10

Not mystical but I like Marlowe and Otis too. I miss having a cat:(

ClaireDeTamble · 16/06/2012 21:14

Tyrion is my favourite character in Game of Thrones - he is a member of the 'bad' family but is a goodie. Very witty, clever and extremely cunning so perfect name for a cat really. He's also a dwarf - not that it's relevant, unless perhaps you have the litter runt, in which case it's even more appropriate.

You could look at the cats names from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, which I think are from a Rudyard Kipling book.

Not Kipling - T.S Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Fab poems.

Somersaults · 16/06/2012 21:16

I'm asking DH because he reads a lot of fantasy/sci fi type things.

He's suggested Matrim from Wheel of Time.

He also thinks he will be the right colours to pull of Gandalf. I think Gandalf is too wise and old sounding for a little kitten though!

Mikali?
Naolin?
Akuji?
Kyros?
Orion?
Barak?

Somersaults · 16/06/2012 21:17

Claire Thank you! I have the book on the bookcase but cba getting up and going to check which of the two wrote it!

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 21:46

I am liking Otis, I am a big fan of Mr Redding.

MrsVamos · 16/06/2012 21:50

I have a seal-mitted Raggie, called Yorkie. Smile

I also have a blue-mitted boy, who we rescued at a year old, he is called George. (We didn't name it but it suits him).

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/06/2012 22:18

He is now named OTIS. :)

I am so in love with him already.

MrsVamos I've read up on the breed, but do you have any tips? What food do you feed yours?

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 16/06/2012 22:20

Ahh, Otis is lovely. Smile

Is this your first time owning a raggie ?
