How many times a day do you feed your cat?

I'm still a bit confused about this. We have had our cat for about 5 months, we got her from CP but have never had cats before so it's all new to me. She's got a good appetite and I give her 3 pouches of Felix food per day, spread out over the day. So breakfast, lunch and dinner I suppose. Plus dry food in between.

But when we left her at the cattery for a few days, they said they feed their cats twice a day. So what's the right thing to do or does it just depend on the cat?

She's just under a year old btw.

if that's what you do for them, that's what they will expect you to do for them.

I have a very small cat (2.7kg) though healthy and fully grown (i assume at aged 2). She gets half a pouch morning and night and a small handful of dry food when we get her inside before we go to bed. Water changed every day, I've never seen her drink it but she likes to drink from the toilets!

My cat has 3 pouches a day.

4 if he wears me down.

If I fed pouches the cats would never shut up.

ATM they get through a tin between them, and OutsideCat gets a tin to himself, spread over 2 'sittings'. They also have all the biscuits they want, which is apparently 1tsp a day Hmm

I am fed up of cat food stench so the Iams regime is starting as soon as we run out of tins (about 3 days)
