eggyblackett · 12/04/2012 12:27

I like the name Random for a cat! I'm always a bit dubious about "twin" names- you have to make sure they work on their own in case (God forbid) anything happens to one

MimsyBorogroves · 12/04/2012 13:41

Atticus and Scout. Definitely.

issey6cats · 12/04/2012 13:50

would be kit and caboodle for me there is a cat sanctuary in america called caboodle ranch look it up on u tube the most amazing place for cats iv ever seen.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2012 13:59

What if they dont respond to the new names? we tried to re-name a female cat once (very clever girl she was too) but she was having none of it.

Our cat on the other hand answers to his new name and his previous name.

rebecklet · 12/04/2012 14:35

We adopted 2 kittens who were previously Ginger and Lola, they quite happily became Pumpkin and Tango.

I would suggest for the black cat: Pepsi, Sooty, Darth or Vader, Shadow, Midnight, Sid (short for Obsydion), Zorro

For the black and white cat: Domino, Pingu, Sue, Moo,

Where are are the black and white patches? We had a cat called Tux as he had a white chest and white paws.

If you would like a together set I like Sooty and Sue best :)

Although I do quite like Rhubarb and Custard I don't think they are the right colour for the names. Plus what are their characters like? Our Pumpkin is called pumpkin because she is a bit of a bruiser and larger, as well as having a round ginger splodge on her face. Tango is a bit mad and the name totally suits her.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:21

the black one has a round face and looks really smiley and friendly iyswim
the black and white one has a thinner face despite being long haired and she has a more cautious face but looks quite smug and wise!

i did think calling them moonface and silky as she has very soft fur and his face is so round!!!

carrotsandcelery · 12/04/2012 17:20

I do love Atticus (Atta pus) and Scout though. One of my favourite novels and one with an excellent moral to instill in your dcs (walk a while in another man's shoes before you judge him and all that).

carrotsandcelery · 12/04/2012 17:23

Pip and Liz does make me chuckle though Grin

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 19:04

i was so pleased dd1 had to read to kill a mockingbird in her final year school in englishSmile
we read it together and i did the deep southern accents so it made bette sense to her
she had to buy her own copy and to my knowledge has read it at least twice since then
it amazes me something writtten so long ago is still as contemporary.it deserves its place as a classic

so most for atticus and scout, with a couple for kit and caboodle

we have until sunday lumchtime
keep voting people!Smile

I loved teaching it. The kids would moan throuigh the first section which is really dull and plead with me, "Why are we reading this Miss?" and I would tell them to persevere... Grin To Kill A Mockingbird and Wilfred Owen's Dulce Et Decorum Est always moved even the most stubborn classes.
