Dog ate Pringles

MischiefManager · 11/07/2025 21:04

3/4 of the contents of a tube of Texas bbq to be precise. Think it’s in protest to not being walked. Emergency vet now or watch and wait so we think? She’s a small springer.

Today my three have eaten ,:
My very expensive Roche suncream..factor 50..25£ for small bottle

The contents of a bathroom bin

Licked wet paint

Some used cling film

Some spilled persil washing powder.

All very normal...two spaniels and a koojehunde.
Currently all three peacefully sleeping on sofa

I don't think that is normal

3luckystars · 11/07/2025 21:45

I met a man at the vets and he told me his dog ate the sofa. He said it was bit by bit, but the dog sitting in his lap had eaten almost a full sofa.

My dog ate pink playdough once and I only knew because there was luminous pink shit in the garden. She also climbed up and ate a huge Easter egg and the wrapping. I found out what ‘sick as a dog’ meant that time. She was grand afterwards though, thankfully.

What’s the issue with onion powder?

Vividdreamer88 · 11/07/2025 21:50

Sure he’ll be fine but if you are worried the pet poison line is a food reassurance 01202509000 and less expensive than the emergency vet. I think it’s £35 during the week and £45 out of hours.

As a fellow spaniel owner I share your pain!

JustAboutMuddlingThrough · 11/07/2025 21:51

DDog D standing for dickhead dog eats anything and everything she shouldn’t. Scoffed a full tray of chocolate crispy’s and load of sandwiches and had to go have her stomach pumped. She snaffles bird shit up like it’s a local delicacy, eats tissue paper and cardboard like it’s going out of fashion. Oh and to add to the list of things she shouldn’t eat. She got into my bedroom and ate every single oat biscuit that I’d hidden under my pillow still inside the packet to have with a cuppa when I went to bed. It’s a good job she’s mega cute 😂

CautiousLurker01 · 11/07/2025 21:52

My dogs love to share a packet of quavers with me. Well pretty much any crisps that anyone is eating, regardless of flavour. Both are healthy and totally fine (a springer and a sprocker).

Onion is toxic to dogs

3luckystars · 11/07/2025 21:55

I didn’t know that! Thanks for that information x

So is garlic

My parents dog had to go to the emergency vets and have meds to make her sick after eating a quantity (exact amount unknown) of Pringles but they were the sour cream and chive ones that have garlic and onion powder in them

What ? My dog eats whatever my baby drops on the floor, which often contains onions and garlic. Not had a sick day in his life.

sandgrown · 11/07/2025 22:01

We had a Jack Russell that ate eight Easter Eggs leaving only the foil and the boxes . He suffered no ill effects!

I guess some are more sensitive to it than others, same with chocolate which a family members dog ate a decent quantity of and was fine but another friends ate a smaller quantity and nearly died.
However technically garlic and onion are toxic to them.

Id be fuming at the loss of pringles 🤣 but dog will be fine, maybe squitty

Yes this. The dog owes you some Pringles.

Arran2024 · 11/07/2025 22:05

One of my dogs won't touch the reconstituted potato snacks like pointless, skips, quavers. He eats crisps if he gets his paws on them but not the potato packs.

I trust his judgement!

( OP i think your dog will be fine but keep us posted)

Theredjellybean · 11/07/2025 22:08

@Idontjetwashthefucker ..sorry should say " Normal fory dogs"
They are basically hoovers

Theredjellybean · 11/07/2025 22:08

Sorry again..." Sorry ..normal for my dogs"

I bet the dog is delighted 😂Ours ate a tampon 😱

Our last dog tried but failed and left the full of saliva tampons all over the bathroom floor, but I think she ate the cardboard box 🫣

Garlic is okay in small doses. I also wouldn’t worry about onion powder unless they ate a whole tub of it.

That really isn’t normal. At all.

Does she get to eat human food often? I think she’s more likely to get an upset tummy if she’s never had anything like it before, dogs that regularly get a crisp or bite of everything will have more of a tolerance.

Agree with this. My dad was very old school, and he had a mongrel that lived on the same food as him. Chilli con carne, curry, bolognese, chinese takeaways, cups of tea, English breakfast etc. You name it, that dog had eaten it. She lived to the ripe old age of 15. Although, she was put to sleep due to acute pancreatitis 🙄

Dabralor · 11/07/2025 22:29

She'll have done it because she knows it will make her just sick enough to warrant the classic chicken and rice emergency diet, yet avoid the vets and the vomitorium. Your dog is a clever cookie!

Thedoorisalwaysopen · 11/07/2025 22:29

You can tell your dog that my Labrador is very jealous! He loves crisps.

Headingtowardsdivorce · 11/07/2025 22:35

I had no idea that dogs shouldn't have garlic or onions. Mine eat my leftovers so have had both. One of them will eat just about anything, except tomatoes for some reason.
