Can anybody tell me the breed of this dog?

Any guesses?

Without much of a doubt Golden Retriever, with maybe something else somewhere.

I’d go Golden Retriever x spaniel of some kind - it’s gorgeous whatever it is!!

(My parents have a golden and I have a springer and I can see a lot of both of them in this pic so that’s what my guess is going on)

Yellow Flattie (Flat Coated Retreiver) Face too thin for a Saluki

Although Yellow isnt breed standard normally Black or Liver

The coat is pure working cocker - the thinness, the feathering, the ears, and the colour - they can be this very pale gold/lemon. Possibly a bit leggy and thin of face for a cocker, but then some are thin of face. My WCS's half-sister's head is narrow like this and she's definitely 100% cocker, and they can go through an "all legs" phase adolescence. I would say it's at least mainly WCS.

A few people have asked what my 100% WCS is crossed with (guesses include flatcoat, red setter, Springer spaniel, and pointer) as people see something show-cocker-ish-but-different and assume a mix.

Working cockers are beautiful dogs, but I'm pretty biased :-)

It looks nothing like a Weimaraner! They're a totally different colour with a completely different coat type

I'm seeing working cocker too. I have a white and lemon and the coat shape and feathering are almost identical

Looks almost identical to a dog I know but none if you have guessed the breeding if it’s the same as he is. This one is so alike I’m convinced it’s the same dog (location op?)

unbelievably, the one I know is a cockerpoo. He presumably didn’t get the curly coat memo 😂

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Golden Retriever? Seen a picture of one very similar but less feathery.

Sorry to dig up such an old post I found it whilst researching my dog’s heritage. He’s 18 weeks and I rehomed him so haven’t seen parents or breeders. He is supposed to be WCS but everyone we meet thinks he’s a golden retriever cross. The vet thinks he is behaviourally typical of a WCS but definitely a cross breed. He has big webbed feet and a long tail that is starting to get feathery like the one above from OP. Any guesses?

Hard to tell from just a head shot. What's the rest of him look like? How big is he?
I think WCS and GR puppies do look similar.

You can get long haired weimaraner - I have one - and one of his littermates was blond/golden, so my guess is long-haired weimaraner.
