I'm totally freaking out. DH gone to emergency vets. He's a spaniel/ Jack Russel cross. Pretty small. Reckon there was circa 30 raisins in it.... Sad

My in laws discovered their dog could open a door one Christmas eve when they came down to several demolished chocolate boxes (one of which had been wrapped), several pools of vomit and one sick dog. He was grand after a visit to the vet. I am sorry op, it is so worrying when these things happen. I hope he is back to himself asap. The incident with the in-laws didn't even stop him trying to snaffle chocolate!

Just for future reference- all those saying “my dog did it and was fine”

the effects of grapes and raisins are not dose dependent, and the toxic mechanism is unknown.

sometimes a dog can eat a lot, sometimes a Great Dane has one grape and suffers renal failure.

you can’t predict which dogs will go into renal failure, from what dose.

so dogs should always be seen. If you are one of the unlucky ones by the time you see symptoms of the kidneys packing in it’s too late for treatment.

Noone is saying don't seek medical attention. The dog is already being seen. Others are just sympathising and letting the op know that plenty of dogs eat what they should not. Accidents happen and most dogs are grand. People are just offering a bit of reassurance.

We have had to change the door handles to round ones and had a sliding door instead of French doors as our dog can open doors. He's a total nightmare. The funny thing is that we have an open plan kitchen/lounge with a 75cm baby gate across the kitchen entrance, he could literally push it over or walk over it but hasn't figured that out, yet he can open doors inwards and outwards 😂

Ah my rescue Jack Russell cross ate the glittery salt dough tree decorations my dd had made one Christmas. Made for interesting poos. Glad your little one is ok.

Zombie thread resurrection but salt dough is also toxic to dogs and ingestion warrants an emergency vet visit.
