Puppy Survival Thread - as we approach Fireworks night for the first time…

Apologies if someone has already started a new thread. Couldn’t see one when I had a quick look.

As it’s a new thread, why don’t we all (re-) introduce ourselves. Ie. Good excuse for more cute puppy pictures!

I have RiverPup, who is now a 15 weeks old black Labrador.

Two pictures of when we first got him, and more recent.

@Riverlee I have such a soft spot for shiney black labs like yours. I grew up with them. If I hadn't become second mum to the bundle of fluff's big sister and fallen in love with golden retrievers I would have got a lab.

@Cocopuff I know, the separation anxiety is terrible! She just wants me even when others are in the house! On the other hand, I get all the best cuddles 🤣

@BigBundleOfFluff and @Riverlee id have happily gone for a lab too but Haku fell into our lives and laps very suddenly! It is crazy how quickly they grow and I’ve been told he won’t stop for another year?! He’s 30kg now….here’s my comparison side by side from when we first got him at 10 weeks

Well Rowdypup has had an adventurous day exploring the big wide world. His first trip out was to the stables so he's met horses and chickens, as well as lots of people. And then he's just met my friend's very boisterous Labrador! I'm hoping for a peaceful evening tonight as he must be exhausted after all these new experiences.

@Citygirlrurallife Haku is 6x the size and weight that Coco will eventually be! All the dogs are beautiful.

DH took Coco for her walk today and came back with her absolutely filthy and utterly shattered! She needed a full bath and her flea treatment redoing!

She was most definitely not beautiful on her return

@Cocopuff I love her yellow coat! Look at her little face, so cute.

@Citygirlrurallife awww he has a lovely smile! Mine is 28.5kg I think she'll max out at 32kg. Her mum is small but her dad is the size of an absolute lion!
I think for girls, mine has another 3 months or so of height growing to do and then another year of filling out. She's 9 months now.

@BigBundleOfFluff im hoping Haku slims down rather than fills out - he’s a pudge and the veg told us he’s a bit overweight, ooops!

coco looks very sweet in her coat but yes very muddy! I invested in the mud daddy and DH tried it today and was unimpressed. I think once we finally big a house we just need to instal an outdoor power shower

I’m currently surfing the internet for cool
floor cushions to protect my bum when I do morning and evening snuggles with my
sleepy puppy on our hardwood floors

Diesel is definitely thinking, why can’t I have a cool yellow coat, instead of this one!

This flashed Up on Facebook yesterday. Just got around to posting it. May be useful, in additions to the suggestions above, if we get snowed in.

Bless Diesel. Coco was similarly unimpressed when the hood was on the raincoat - but as soon as that was removed she was a lot happier...

Sunpup is 5 months old this week! He's mostly such a good boy! He finds dog training classes hard though- far too exciting! All the other dogs calmly on their mats- he's just bouncing up and down! He will sit and wait for treats but he tamps his front feet, his little tongue goes in and out and he bounces backwards on his bottom. He's so sweet, but he's never going to pass his KC bronze course.😂 we do love him so.

Riverpup is the opposite at puppy classes. Going for walks, he wants to greet every dog and play with them. At puppy class, he happily will stay by my side and not pull. It’s as if he knows he has to behave.

We’ve just signed up to do an intermediate class as I feel I need more than the original group of lessons. Going with another school, as the first one hasn’t got any next level classes running at the moment. We met the trainer the other day who introduced us to a whole new vocabulary - German (continental) heel, English heel etc.

Sunpup likes birdwatching! He watches the seagulls for hours!

He's so handsome! I've been trying to teach the fluffy bundle a "tall sit" to pose for photos unsuccessfully since we got her.

Has anyone done the “Sexier than a squirrel” challenge I’ve seen online? Contemplating buying it and having a go.
