I’ve finally managed to find Billy a home boarder 🎉. He’s going to a trial next week and it’ll be the first time he’s stayed away from us in nearly a year! DS had stayed away far more times in his first year 😂.

Billy got 2 comments about his lovely walking on his front clipped harness today. I smiled innocently and thought to myself that they obviously haven’t seen him on his collar and lead 🙈.

sandwiches77 · 11/03/2022 18:46

Grrr sandwichpup will not stop scratching up the carpet

PugInTheHouse · 11/03/2022 19:56

Well pugpup is over a year so not really a pup and was a little monster today. In protest to me getting ready to go out without him he ripped up his poo bags and threw the cat poo out of the litter tray all over the hall Shock

hashbrownsandwich · 12/03/2022 13:16

Officially joining as a 'sandwichpup' is finally here. Day 3 and he is hard work but settling in as if he's always been here.
I have another dog too who is 12 and he's unphased.

LadyCatStark · 12/03/2022 15:21

@PugInTheHouse, poo bags are one of Billy’s favourite things to shred too 🙈.

Welcome @hashbrownsandwich, you must pay your joining task of one photo please… 😂 there’s already a sandwichpup though so yours might like to be hashbrownpup to avoid confusion 🥰.

LadyCatStark · 12/03/2022 15:22

*joining fee

Hashbrown pup it is then!

It's not the best photo of him but hopefully that'll pay my dues Grin

PugInTheHouse · 12/03/2022 17:29

He is adorable!!

tizwozliz · 12/03/2022 17:35

@hashbrownsandwich can't quite believe that 8 months ago we had something that tiny. The rate they grow is phenomenal

@hashbrownsandwich so sweet!

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 12/03/2022 18:01

My dsis has been telling me that it's much more fun having a dog in summer than winter to cheer me up as we struggle with the terrible teenage dog and today I thought maybe that is true

Ddog, Dd and I went for a 2hr walk in the countryside in the Spring sunshine with all the early blossom on the trees and the snowdrops and I really enjoyed it and thought 'this is why we got a dog'

Added bonus is that he is tired out now and curled up sweetly on the doormat.

I had a super walk this morning too. FawkesPup's mate came along and they had a load of fun

We just returned from a few days away at the beach. It was wonderful! The pup absolutely loved the beach. He was an excellent travelling companion as well.

@hashbrownsandwich what an adorable puppy!

LadyCatStark · 12/03/2022 18:49

@hashbrownsandwich he’s soo cute! It’s hard to believe Billy once looked just like that and less than a year later, he looks like a big man dog!

@LadyCatStark def not looking like a pup anymore!

Aria20 · 12/03/2022 19:48

Jealous of all the good walks... mine is still on lead only walks for a bit longer post spay and today we went to a new woods and it was a mistake as she nearly yanked my arm out of its socket pulling to get to something in the undergrowth so I shouted at her and got very stressed. She can walk so nicely on a pavement just not in woods/fields. She's also been really barky again lately and it's driving us all insane!

Suzbug · 13/03/2022 09:38

IndyPup had his first walkies yesterday. He did a great job, although pulling is something I fear we'll be working on. Dreaming of beautiful off lead walks in the woods! Needless to say he was shattered after a few short walks throughout the day. Didn't stop the 4am barks though Confused

@hashbrownsandwich What a cutie!

It's really worth starting on loose lead walking from day 1. It's so easy when they're little to let them pull/walk with a tight leash for an easy life but you won't regret putting in the work early. The training is incredibly dull unfortunately

Suzbug, adorable.

hashbrownsandwich · 13/03/2022 12:18

5.30am pup was crying in his crate to go outside. No worries, went out, did his business then we settled in the lounge.

What annoyed me most was the kids all got up at the same time! They've never got up that early even as babies Confused

My husband is being VERY strict with hashbrownpup - no cuddling on the sofa, no getting on the sofa.

Husband has grown up with outdoor living gundogs. I've grown up with Labrador's who rule the roost. So we are falling out learning to compromise Hmm

hashbrownsandwich · 13/03/2022 12:19

@Suzbug oh my gosh that is a beautiful dog!

ABitBesotted · 13/03/2022 12:36

The park was deserted earlier so my pup was able to go offlead for nearly her entire walk. Very pleased with her recall, sit, shake, kiss, lie down and other basics. Now working on "bang bang," which has my husband rolling his eyes. Grin

What tricks are you all teaching your pups? Are you following a particular book?

@ABitBesotted - we got the brain games for dogs book when Ada had kennel cough and we were confined to the house/garden. I just pick and choose at random, I've attempted roll over a few times but have had no success. If you haven't already learned middle that's a really useful one and would definitely recommend.

We've had a lovely weekend, lots of fun in the woods. She was flying. We've also had success in ignoring people walking/biking past without having to resort to putting her on the lead so that's a huge success.

Why go around when you can jump?
