The other thread is full and I can’t see a new one! Hope it’s OK to start one. I’m actually barely surviving puppyhood, actually teenagerhood, this week 🤬😡😭.

@Aria20 contact Eden, they'll send you samples! I can send you some of the country cuisine if you'd like?

It looks expensive....but FawkesPup gets 180gm a day, so way, way less than other foods. So ends up evening out overall. Vet was pleased when I told her we feed it, as were trainers so I think it's good stuff and FawkesPup is shiny and happy on it.

Scan is Thursday. Hoping for good news....limp gone tonight, so it's all just a bit of a mystery!

LadyCatStark · 18/01/2022 06:05

@Aria20 does she need to eat kibble? We’ve given up on it completely and Billy has the trays of food that are a complete meal. He usually has the Langhams ones from Aldi or the Forthglade ones if they’re out of stock or we run out and I have to nip to the pet shop for more. They score really highly on the all about dogs website and they give Billy much smaller, firmer poos. He wolfs them down!

Billy’s sleeping is driving me insane. He didn’t even make it to 5am this morning 😡. I don’t know what’s happened to him!

@LadyCatStark I guess it's for ease and to be able to feed using puzzle feeders and snuffle mats which you can't do with wet food...when we go on holiday in July she's going to have to go into home boarding which I'm worried about and want to know she is reliably eating properly - I know it's a way off but I want it sorted as I know someone else isn't going to pander to her like I would lol.

With the early waking have you changed his routine at all feeding earlier/later or walk times? Is he waking cos he needs toilet or just wants to be up for the day and playing?

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 06:28

@GuyFawkesDay yes il be happy to pay for a big sack once I know she'd eat it as it's the same with Millie's it sounds expensive but works out cheaper overall. Does yours eat the Eden on its own quite happily or do you mix it with wet?

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 06:30

@tizwozliz @sandwiches77 I looked and nearest independent stockist is miles away - like well over an hour! There doesn't seem to be any little pet shops near me only pets at home!

GuyFawkesDay · 18/01/2022 07:32

@Aria20 wolfs it down!! I do add a topper every so often because I am soft and think he must get bored but nope, it all disappears!! They do different flavours and semi-moist kibble too.

I'm going to our stockist today to get some Eden wet for his kongs so I will ask for samples for you

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 07:55

@GuyFawkesDay thanks very much let me know if you have any luck how much I owe you and for postage x

LadyCatStark · 18/01/2022 08:03

@Aria20 no nothing’s changed with his routine except he’s had more walks recently so you’d think he’d be more tired! I’ve tried giving him a snack before bed and going outside with him for his last week to check he’s actually been but it doesn’t make a difference. He has been more settled in the evenings so maybe he’s getting too much sleep then. He doesn’t need a wee as he doesn’t go out until after his breakfast. He’s full of beans when he wakes up and makes loads of noise whacking his wagging tail against things 😂. I think the problem is that he’s ready to ditch his crate. He goes in quite happily but he wakes us up scratching at the base in the morning.

OP posts:
Aria20 · 18/01/2022 09:18

@LadyCatStark ah yes we ditched crate at about 9 months too and she's much happier!

GuyFawkesDay · 18/01/2022 09:25

Oh god ours is only just happy in his, and he still wakes up at 5an because he wants snuggles, he's just desperate to be with me. Settled back to sleep as soon as he has a lap to curl up behind!!

I'll have an ask today @Aria20 bit I also have some codes for Eden to get 10% off and if pup likes the dry you can get the working dog food which is VAT free too

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 10:14

@GuyFawkesDay thanks, I have a feeling she would prefer the semi moist to dry....but she'll prob still be a fuss pot!

tizwozliz · 18/01/2022 10:28

We tried the Langhams wet food as a topper and Ada didn't seem overly keen. The problem for me with sample bags is pup will eat pretty much anything new. We seem to have the fussiness mostly sorted by changing flavours every 4kg, puzzle feeders, and a mix of lily's kitchen wet food and fish4dogs toppers. We were keen to keep with kibble as it makes life easier for travelling, camping etc.

tizwozliz · 18/01/2022 10:41

Thought this group might enjoy this comment. When we met Ada's brother at the weekend, the first thing they said to me after introducing ourselves was "is she a dickhead too?" Grin

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 11:02

@tizwozliz yes new things are a novelty! What do you use from fish4dogs? I just want her to love her food!

Aria20 · 18/01/2022 11:04

@tizwozliz ahhh that's nice you met her brother. Did they seem to remember each other? I'd love to meet our pups litter mates and see if they still remember but we travelled quite far to get her so unlikely we will meet them!

tizwozliz · 18/01/2022 11:12

We actually got our pup 3 hours away so it's a bit of a coincidence that we've ended up in the same training group as her brother. I think there was perhaps some spark of recognition there, although she's so excited to meet most dogs it's hard to say.

We get some of the fish4dogs finest toppers, they do little tins and also some pouches of mousse. They do kibble as well and Ada was happy to eat that for rewards round the house. Might be worth making an enquiry to them, they sent me a load of free samples when I asked a question :-)

GuyFawkesDay · 18/01/2022 14:15

The mousse pouches from fish4dogs can go into silicone moulds for frozen treats too. Dog loves it but oof, the fish breath!

@Aria20 I have 2 sample bags for you of the Eden. Their small bag is 2kg I think so not a huge issue if they go off it but mine loves the semi moist as a training treat and I can work out the allowance a bit easier too!!

Haha that's ace. Are they whippets by any chance?
Aria20 · 18/01/2022 18:05

Thank you @GuyFawkesDay not sure if I can pm via app?

GuyFawkesDay · 18/01/2022 19:38

I'll try now!

LadyCatStark · 18/01/2022 20:46

Dammit after another day of lovely behaviour Billy has gone and chewed up yet another sky remote while I was on the cross trainer. DH is so cross with him. I was going to suggest trying to not use his crate tonight but I guess tonight is not the night.

OP posts:
Aria20 · 18/01/2022 21:19

Oh dear @LadyCatStark yes better to wait until your DH is in a better mood. Plus if he's chewing things you don't want to risk coming down to carnage!

Mine was very unsettled and barky tonight and in the end I took her out in garden (she'd not long been a wee) and she did a poo straight away lol she never normally goes at night bless her she'd obviously felt uncomfortable as she came in and lay straight on her bed and went to sleep!

Oh no! My pup has stopped chewing most forbidden things but still can't be allowed anywhere near a TV remote. They must be just the right size. How annoying.
LadyCatStark · 18/01/2022 21:23

He hasn’t chewed anything he shouldn’t in ages but yes, sky remotes are irresistible! It’s one of those things that gets left lying around too no matter how much you try to remember to put it on the window ledge 🙈.

Ruddy puppies eh? FawkesPup has been positively angelic today, which instead of making my delighted has instead provoked suspicion 🤣

Limp is gone, and off painkillers now so hoping all is ok and just crossing every digit for Thursday now 🙈
