Xl bully insurance?

I recently got a beautiful Xl bully but I'm unsure as to what breed she is for the insurance, I want to get it right to ensure she is fully covered.. I asked the vets but even they're not sure and have put her as an xl bully.. This is not an option for insurance...
Hoping that anyone with a bully could shed some light!? 😁

I didn't know what breed our rescue pup is and Petplan said they can't insure without knowing so we went round in circles a bit frustratingly at first but the next guy I got when I rang back was a lot more useful and told me that there's an option to submit pictures and stats ie height, weight, age and they have people who will estimate the breed for insurance purposes.
I did that and they confidently declared him to be a Romanian mioritic sheepdog and then they happily insured him so maybe ask about that option
I also did not want to take any chances on the insurance issue in case of it being invalid.

Hi I got my xl bully insurance through bought by many and it was 85.96 a month I clicked cross breed and added ambul as dominant breed, however I have just spoken to bought by many and she will not be insured as she will not be recognised as a British breed, hope this helps people so as not to get caught out

I created this account because you're arrogant and short reply bugged me..... xl bully's may not be a recognised breed in the UK but they sure are in the US they are what's known as a designer breed.. I paid $10,000 for mine her sire is a certified champion in the US with a serious bloodline and my girl is pure perfection I get stopped every single time I'm out with her ... I have 3 daughters and her temperament is perfect so dont hate on the breed because you can't afford one. 👍🏻

Absolutely love your response! There isn't a badog! Bagdogs! Are most dangerous, but they cant do know harm! But bullys and all other dogs they do have their traits! A spaniels! Are beautiful to people and other dogs! Anything that is small! It's their instinct! I have a bully breed, I saved her as a baby, apparently bullys are bullys, just need to be trained, they were made for the perfect family dog, anything can be trained I've never known a more lovable dog! But she has now found her ground, and only plays with small dogs, but shes too heavy, if a big dog wants to play, she snarls, and it scares me! I would also like advice please! Uncut ears! But that tail is a weapon! X

I have a cross breed I had to declare what breeds. I dont have a bully though. You need to be specific otherwise they won't pay if you you claim. It's a case of phoning them all up and going through them all. Many won't insure certain breeds.

I like a big dog that has a bad name by uneducated morons in order to prove them wrong.

Lou98 is perfectly correct, your dog is an American bulldog, I myself own a female bully xl and on the vets forms when she was born she's down as an American bulldog,
Also to BunnyGeek American bully's are registered by the kennel club, mines is KC registered! People should get their facts right before saying things, the only member of the bully breed who ISNT on the kc register is the so called POCKET BULLY, if you want you can also check Google, I own a female bully xl( otherwise known as an American Bulldog) who is KC registered which I have the paperwork to prove it, her vet states on her birth papers that she's an American Bulldog,

American Bullies are NOT recognised by the UK Kennel Club. Neither are American Bulldogs. All their recognised breeds are here:
www.thekennelclub.org.uk/search/breeds-a-to-z/

They have their own "American Bully Kennel Club" but this is a Club created by breeders, it has no affiliation with the official UK Kennel Club.

bunnygeek · 03/10/2022 13:34

To add to the above, American Bullies are also NOT recognised by the US Kennel Club (although they do recognised American Bulldogs), all their recognised breeds are here:
www.akc.org/dog-breeds/

Anyone can make up their own little club and call it a "Kennel Club" but it does not mean it's the same as the officially recognised national Kennel Club.

So all the Xl and pocket bullies I am seeing about (absolutely loads) aren’t insured? My nephew has 3 and I didn’t even think to ask him. All of the ones I’ve met have been beautiful and lovely natured barring one.

Its worrying that the rate they are been bred at, that any unhealthy traits gets passed down then unable to get insured too.

Hi there, sorry to but in, but what measurements of head and snout do they use and what measurement do they consider to be a pitbull? If you know... thanks

Amwhatiam · 25/01/2023 13:04

Thats a very Valid point.. how ever an xlbully is a breed that can be insured under a bull terrier.. StaffordShire bull Terror is a source for dna.. my xl bully looks like a pit bull I live in U.K. not once has anyone said is that a pitbull.. yet she is red nosed so i expect it.. and she is more like the Caribbean pit bull.. again uninsureable in The U.K but I do have to agree everytime I see one my self im like u can see The prominate breed in the face and general dynamics of The dogs looks.. xl Bully's are pit crosses but they are bull terrier breed..
