Rough Collie Puppy name

Hi all

Puppy arriving next week.

We need a name. So far we have

Molly the Collie
Saffron
Lunar
Whisky
Copper

Any other suggestions. Can’t have, Holly, Hope, Poppy, Sally, Amber, skye

@Dryadia Love the blue merles and husband likes the tri colours. However, the sables are beautiful too so we were after temperament more than anything else.

No advice on a name but rolled leather collars are good - they stop fur damage you can get with a flat collar.

I’m with your DH, tri colour is my favourite too.

Merle is a gene linked to some very serious health problems, while properly bred (Merle x non Merle) puppies shouldn’t have any issues their existence means awful, or just plain uneducated people, end up breeding merles to other merles not understanding (or caring) about the implications and the results can be absolutely disastrous.
I would like to see an end to the breeding of Merle.

@Snaplittledragon yes, we turned down an older merle as were not sure why the breeder (a big name) was getting rid and, in my opinion, not enough searching questions were asked of us. Your point about the uneducated then breeding when genetics are dodgy is valid and worse at the moment with all these different crosses going on too. I found a site with lovely leather collars so once she is a bit bigger will spend the dosh on one. Our beardie always had a leather collar to no ill effect. Many thanks for the advice.

Our blue was a breeder reject, perfect looks but the most nervous dog I have ever known. If we hadn't taken the breeder was going to have him put down Angry.

My parents still had to pay top dollar for him and when dad was unexpected posted back to UK we had to find him another home as there was no way he'd have survived the 6 months quarantine.

My parents made a number of trips back over the next 10 year to check on him to make sure he settled in. He lived until he was 15.
