Rough Collie Puppy name

Puppy arriving next week.

We need a name. So far we have

Molly the Collie
Saffron
Lunar
Whisky
Copper

Any other suggestions. Can’t have, Holly, Hope, Poppy, Sally, Amber, skye

Dotty
Or
Doris

Mine is a boy. Not neutered. Get ready for a vast amount of grooming and hoovering. We used a harness when he was little but just a lead if walking now (although he has a harness when he goes for a run or bike ride with DH). They’re a great breed. So soft and gentle and they bond with all members of the family.

When choosing a name remember that whilst they are little fluff balls when young, they grow up to look very elegant

Sorry to sound thick but does Cheska have regal connotations?

I’m not sure but it’s generally short for Francesca - I do think it has a very ‘Royal’ feel though - it sounds like a European royal!

Op, I may be completely mistaken, but as soon as I looked at that photo, I thought that her eyes looked worryingly small. Rough Collies can be prone to a condition called Micropthalmia. (I'm an ex vet nurse.) I may be utterly mistaken but I just wanted to bring it to your attention, just in case. I do hope all is fine. She's adorable! I vote Tamsin for her name.

(It's possibly just the angle of the photo and the hair??)

Rough collie puppies eyes are very small at that age. Some types have smaller eyes than others too.

Normal puppy lead and collar when young. I use a slip lead on mine now he is older as the head ends up smaller than the neck and they don't tend to pull anyway. Neutering can completely ruin the coat and make it nearly impossible to brush. What breeding is she?

This shows eyes on mine at that age. Tested with no issues.

Breeder is reg Kennel Club, very on the showing circuit, mum and dad , and lineage all winners at big dog shows. Very good mix of kennels in there, ie, no inter breeding. As breeder is keeping a pup, who could, actually be this one - I've used a picture of one of the litter - we only chose ours yesterday - and this was three weeks ago, I doubt there will be obvious eye issues at this stage. I don't have health concerns and they are being vet checked very soon. Breeder has been amazing and we are not paying stupid money. They are brought up in the home.

It now looks like @HasaDigaEebowai beautiful dog. Full of bounce and beans! Busy puppy proofing everything!

There is one particular breeder I would advise to steer clear of. PM me if you want to check

@HasaDigaEebowai Have lived on collie life! Paid my dosh to Julie and got on the puppy list. She was really helpful to me and gave loads of advice. Good to know of some happy owners out there. We used to have a beardie years ago. Am a bit of a geek and love doing pedigree trees and looking at lineage!

We had a normal collar. Ours were called Dusty, Shane and Blue, ( not very original I know) and yes Blue was a blue merle,
