Do dogs fart?

Serious question from a new owner! (12 week old border collie pup.)

Sometimes when she's in the room there's a real smell of farts, to the points think she's had an accident (we're still working on houstraining) but she hasn't. Is it normal bit dogs to fart?

Yes, they do and burp too. The right food definitely improves matters though. My dog also gets the hiccoughs, more when he was little but it still happens occasionally.

Yes. And sometimes it makes a noise, and the dog will spin round to see where the noise came from. Hours of fun!

Haha, yes they fart and burp and do other disgusting things but I don't want to say as it would scare the OP

My dog once made him self jump. He farted and turned around quite quick to look what the noise was then looked at me in disgust. So funny, the daft little bugger.

A guy in my office feeds his dog a raw diet and tells us pretty much every day that he has the only dog that doesn't fart. Hes incredibly proud of this fact and tells us at least once a day including a boring lecture about raw food so if dog farts bother you, then the raw diet seems to be the way to go

OldGirl has been known to turn around and bark at her arse if it does a loud fart.

She as close to Yeller as she can, at all times. The other week she was snuggled in with her rear end around his throat area. She farted in his face, he barked at her, and she didn’t go near him for days. 😂😂

the labs we have had were all absolute horrors! , not so much for any thing with a Gret x, although one of the pups nearly gassed us all to death when she was very very tiny

The two GSDs we had hardly ever farted, but one would occasionally do those long little squeaky ones and totally did not believe the noise was coming from him....he'd investigate the sofa, turn the cushions off, look accusingly at anyone in the room, even the other dog. And would be totally offended if we said he was being a fartypupper.

I have two french bulldogs and a mastiff cross. Before I switched them to raw food the farting was horrific, the stench lingered in a room for ages. Now...nothing! And also tiny delicate poos that turn white like 70s dog poo within a day that I can pick up with no mess, heaven!

Yes! Mine is currently trying to recreate the Bog of Eternal Stench in my bedroom and is about to receive an eviction notice
as a result. It is not pretty.

Anything with chicken or hint of chicken makes mine fart smells that could clear a town.

The breath from his bottom is a crime against humanity.

My dog doesn't fart. He unleashes the bowels of hell and runs away.

My dog does very occasionally, that I'm aware of, but she's small so it's probably not that noticeable. She's on a low fat food for sensitive stomachs so I imagine that helps, and no treats, instead she has fruit or carrot.

What she does do though is burp. She takes a small doggie antacid pill every day which she has with her morning meal. Sometimes when she's finished eating she'll do quite a large burp.

I've never heard another dog burp.

Mine farts as he runs up the stairs, like his own little trumpet solo!

I wish they didn't. Our girls audibly farts as she sits down or stretches when she needs a poo. It's hilarious.

Never ever heard or smelt my cat fart. Weird.

Dog also comes up and burps at you after she's eaten her breakfast or dinner. We like to think it's her way of saying thanks for the food.
