MonsterBookOfTysons · 27/01/2012 19:12

My dog, who was a staff x jack russell, was called Tyson. I didnt name him, the rehoming centre where I got him from did :)
My mum had a black and white cocker called Monty.
She now has a Daisy, Muppet and Toby Grin

WoodRose · 27/01/2012 19:13

Fruitshoot - Would your collie be a red & white Essex girl by any chance? Ruby, our collie girl had a litter mate called Isla. Long lost sisters, perhaps? Wink

cryhavoc · 27/01/2012 19:17

Two rotties, Sirius and Seren.

toboldlygo · 27/01/2012 19:17

The bitch is Dax and the dog is Ricoh. He would have been Riker but a second Star Trek name was vetoed by DP as too geeky. Shock

Next dog will be Chinook or Rohan, regardless of sex. I don't do Daisy/Tilly/Bella/Alfie names.

flowery · 27/01/2012 19:29

Louis, he's a Cavalier King Charles

Parents had a border collie called Bess

winterreise · 27/01/2012 19:46

Hope your cocker pup hasn't had his beautiful tail chopped off.
Trainers say dogs should have short sharp names and,as with children, something you can yell in public.

jasperjohns · 27/01/2012 20:51

I just love the name Bess for a dog

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 27/01/2012 21:07

Some fab names there. Going to have a jot down of some of them and see what she's like when she comes home.

And she has all of her tail! Grin. No needless meanness for pup!

OP posts:
jasperJohns · 27/01/2012 22:17

I think it's illegal to dock tails now, unless they're actual working dogs.

My schnauzer has his beautiful tail, he loves it and runs around with it, wonkily, in his mouth - I feel sad for those with stumps!

whatever117 · 28/01/2012 02:42

Mine is called Bodie - didn't name him but he already knew his name.

We call him BoBo.

I like the idea of giving dogs out of date human names like Malcolm, Kevin or Audrey.

YNK · 28/01/2012 04:22

Border x = Brock, blue staff x - Rita

brandysoakedbitch · 28/01/2012 05:41

I have a jackapoo called Maggie

I have had lurchers called Charlie Brown and Robert the Bob Hmm
A Cocker Spaniel called Lucy Pockets and a Jack Russell called Twiggy (who ironically was a bit chunky) and finally a pointer cross called Judy

saffronwblue · 28/01/2012 05:44

I gave DD naming rights for our dog and she came up with Daisy. Only after I had agreed did I gradually learn that every second dog is called Daisy. Our Daisy has a sister called Doris which is cute.

SilentBoob · 28/01/2012 05:54

As far as my dog is concerned her name is "No! Off! Stoppit!"
