Springer/labrador-cross names - any ideas anyone?

We will be getting our springer/labrador cross male puppy in about 2 weeks. He is a very scruffy-looking liver and white. I would ideally like one syllable if possible. My beloved Border Collie who died in June was called Tom, so that is out. I came up with Floyd and was outvoted by the entire family. I've got (seemingly) the whole county thinking up names but nothing seems right yet.

Could any of you help, please?

NorkyPies - Jack! Funny you should say that - my DS2 has just left for uni and I'm getting a puppy. Guess what DS name is .....

We had one, he was called. 'sam'.

:)

tooearlytobeup · 28/09/2011 21:40

We have a Springer called Jake, but also considered Freddie, Sam, Seamus, Albus, Dudley, Dexter Smile

NorkyPies · 28/09/2011 21:47

OP, I had it in mind to say 'as long as you don't have a DS with that name', but I like to keep my posts short!

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 28/09/2011 21:50

Ha! Other DS is Sam. In my defence, DS chose his own name (well, he just looked like a Sam) and DH chose DS2 name. I often think I'm using all my baby names on the animals

Ooh, am hijacking/eavesdropping for names for our labrador cross male puppy arriving on Saturday.....(other bit is possibly beagle/lurcher)

I do like Jack....(he's currently Risk, there you go, a one syllable name Grin)

NorkyPies · 02/10/2011 20:32

If Scruff is too -er scruffy, how about Scamp?

ohijustdontknowanymore · 02/10/2011 21:45
