recommendations for something that works for picking up dog hairs!

Help! We have 2 very hairy golden retrievers. I vacuum twice a day downstairs (floors) but the real problem is clothes and the car. The roll of sticky tape doesn't really work.

Any ideas?

We got a Miele cat & dog vacuum, it's the only thing that works for us.

Vallhala · 09/09/2011 11:52

Heard lots about Miele but my Dyson is my best friend. :)

You can purchase a special pet hair attachment for Dyson, not cheap but I know folk who swear by them (I just swear at hair!). It may be worth seeing if you can find something similar for your choice of vacuum.

I'd also recommend grooming with a Furminator - this has made a big difference to the level of fur in this house.

I hate Dysons, have had two and they were shit Grin.

I have to say, I always hated Dysons, had a couple that were rubbish, then tried my neighbours one day and loved it so we bought another, the pet one. It's fab and when it stopped working so well, we rang Dyson, who sent an engineer out two days later to fix it, now it's fab again!

The pet dyson deals with the arrogant posh boy's profuse hair shedding (he's a cat) fortunately the mobile mop has not shed a single hair in 14months.

love love furminator! Smile

am trying to find something really for DD1's school uniform as it's an unhelpful dark blue cardigan that shows up every single dog hair...

Have you tried a lint roller? My son has a habit of cuddling the cat in the mornings, she's extreme hairy and it gets that off.

Black trousers...

Damp kitchen towel works for cat hairs.
